I am interested in this as well. There are two types of Nizoral the otc variety which contains 1% ketoconazole and the perscription strength which contains 2% ketoconazole. My friend is on Reforvit, test, and eq he is using the otc version. The directions say to use` it once every 3-4 days. Should he be using it more frequetly then that? IP: Logged |

The MEDLINE database contains plenty of research to support the fact that ketoconazole is an effective anti-androgen in skin tissue. My hair started falling out rapidly last fall, but stopped almost immediately after I began washing with Nizoral. However I took other measures to prevent hair loss as well, so it is hard to say for certain that it was Nizoral and not something else that stopped the hair loss. IP: Logged |

I think that if you're prone to male pattern baldness and want to fight it, that you should use Nizoral and as many of the various products available that you can afford, and plan to use them continuously. Recently I bought a couple of bottles of prescription strength Nizoral. I plan to use the prescription strength while on cycle and the less expensive OTC strength while off cycle. By the way the ketoconazole in Nizoral can also help to fight acne. I scrub my back with the soap suds from my hair. IP: Logged |
