how big should my legs be in comparison to my upper body? i know my calves should be roughly the same size as my upper arms. Ive heard that your thighs should be half your chest, is this true?

Trey,

I have always used this method for proportion. This goes for contest ready bros. Your flexed upper thigh should be at least as large as your waist when pulled in. My offseason waist goes as high as 38-40. Contest ready, its 32-33. Sucked in it is 29--exactly the measurment of my upper thigh. I have a large bone structure, but this is pretty universal. Hope this helps.

BTW,

My chest is 54in off season, 48-50 contest ready. That would leave me with 24-25in thighs. I had that when I weighed 220. I think they would look too small in my opinion.

that sounds about right, my waist is 28in sucked in so that leaves me with 4in i need to add to my legs, at least i have somthing new to work for.

look up steve reeves, known as the most proportional bodybuilder of all time, he knew it too, he made a formula to calculate ideal proportion, not suprisingly taken from his own measurements...it is some hard math though, but its thourough, matches up each bodypart you can think of, i was happy after doing it since my proportions, according to the formula, were near perfect, only exceptions being my waist being 1 inch too big and my calves being 1/2 inch too small

Raging bulls theory makes the most sense to me .Your upper thigh should be the same size as you contest waist size when it is sucked in. Fortunatly my legs are 32 but my waist is 28 (sucked in) wish my calves would follow my legs.
