I have been out of the gym for about 2 weeks recovering from the flu! - what a bitch!

I have been on cortisone and anti-biotics and all the other crap the quack gave me. I have done my best to still keep on eating (at least I have still kept my appetite! - I am still drinking my shakes, eating 3 meals a day and taking my creatine) and I have rested well although I still don't feel 100%.

I have set my mind on the fact that I AM returning to the gym tomorrow, but to be honest I am scared as hell to get on the damn scale and have it tell me I have lost a shit-load of weight!!!

Questions:
1) How long does it take before your muscles begin to atrophy after a layoff?
2) How much strength is lost after a 2-week layoff under similar circumstances?
3) Should I take it easy for the first week back or should I just hit it all out?
4) I got sick during the taper stage of my cycle. All should have cleared my system by now. Should I start my next course sooner rather than later?

I know that Mike Mentzer believes that you come back even bigger and stronger after a 2-week rest, but I am doubtful of this.

Anyone with similar experiences?
Hope you can help Bros...

Cheers

I have been off for almost a month, due to back injury, and i don't feel tip top but once you get back you tend pick up very quickly. I also carry on eating, not as much as when i was going to the gym, and seem to have kept it all so far and it looks like i will be off for another two weeks.......will let you know what happens. When injured my back i was at the end of a cycle too but carried on as normal especially with Clomid.
as to getting back on AS???? Just BUMP

1.) Usually around 2-3 weeks

2.) It really depends on the person.

3.) Since you were sick, you should come back slowly until you feel normal again.

4.) You should not start another cycle until you are back into the flow of things. Give your body time to recover.
