I've been reading a lot of posts on dnp lately, and I feel somewhat bemused by what i've read. There seems to be conflicting information. Many self professed gurus are saying you must eat carbs to force your body to sweat more, otherwise you won't see any results. Others are saying carb depletion before you start and during the dnp cycle. Can anyone tell me what the real fact is here?? I've just started a dnp cycle today and would like to know the REAL TRUTH. Thankyou.

In my limited experience with DNP, with my fair knowledge about the biochemistry of the body, and in my humble opinion, I say cut carbs. Don't eliminate them. Cut them as low as you comfortably can. Low blood glucose levels are a prerequisite for fat loss. They are essential to keep insulin down, since fat loss CANNOT OCCUR WITH HIGH INSULIN LEVERLS. Where's Fonz? He can cover this better than I can... Fonz! Where are you!!!??? Come rescue us! ------------------

First of all...there is and for this moment in time...will be no real truth. Everything ever said about dnp is someones theory or a fuckin guess. So....the best I can say to you is....go with what makes the most sense to you.

quote: Normally, when on a diet low insulin levels are required for fat-loss, but DNP BLOCKS INSULIN!! Therefore, insulin levels are irrelevant. The reason why the more % of total carb calories you eat while on DNP is better, is that DNP blocks the formation of ATP from glucose(Well..... renders the process MUCH LESS efficient) Therefore, all the carbs eaten are blocked and thrown off as heat. Fat eaten by-passess this thermogenic process. So does protein.(But protein is ESSENTIAL to maintain muscle so you cannot ingest less) There is a dilemma though. High-carb diets while on DNP while great for fat-loss will make YOU VERY HUNGRY since they enter and leave the gastrointestinal tract very, very fast(compared to protein/fat) Fat/protein slows down gastric emptying and makes you feel fuller for longer. Which is very beneficial while on DNP. The reason you carb-deplete before-hand is to deplete MUSCLE-glycogen, in order for fat-loss to start VERY QUICKLY once into the DNP cycle. This in reference to the fact that it takes DNP about 4-5 days to deplete existing glycogen stores. The body has a greater fat-burning potential when glycogen stores are low BTW. With depletion, mega fat-loss begins after 2 days on a DNP cycle. When on the cycle, I recommend a "zone" type diet to help control hunger, while still reaping the rewards of the ATP-blocking effects of the DNP due to carb intake. Hope that helped... Godspeed |
