I'm trying to cut-up a bit. But I believe post-workout supplementation is very important. Even thought i'm trying to lose weight, I still consume about 80-100g of carbs and 60-70g of protein immediately after a workout. I'm still losing weight by doing this, but should I cut back a little on the postworkout meal?

I don't think so. Post workout is the ideal time for carbs...they will go to restore glycogen. This will help woth muscle repair and the added bonus of keepint the muscles somewhat full. It's the least likely time any glucose will be stored as fat. I'm not an advocate of very low carb dieting so I make sure to consune carbs to keep the muscles in working order while dieting.

If you train late on then yes. Having the replenishment straight after your workout is essential for recovery. Eat a small meal about 1 1/2 - 2hrs later with sufficient protein. Eating a lot late on though means it settles on the stomach during the night and digests slower, promoting more fat.

Spunky I am working on the same as you, and postworkout meal(shake whatever) has been the same too. I would not sacrifice those carbs they are used up too quickly and for the right reasons. Stick with it and have patience. Good luck

I don't think you should cut back at all. Post workout is the most important time for carbs and protein. None of those calories will be stored as fat as long as you keep them in reasonable doses as you are...
