I see a lot of people mentioning this as part of thier training routines. If you do squats you are working the entire leg, same deal with the leg press, although you can isolate certain areas with diffferent positioning of the feet etc... Can some one explain this split and the reasoning behind it.
Thanks
I

Squats do train the whole leg,but should be trained with Quads. Hams are often neglected, but if you are looking for overall growth in your thighs. You should hit them alone. It is like Bi's and Tri's. When people think you have big arms they mean bi's but your Tri is 2/3 of your arm. So I would train them seperately if you can. and this all depends on your seriousness to have massive legs. Alot of people train them together and have decent legs.

Everyone is different when it comes to what workout works best for them. It is important to switch things up every once in a while. I personally train hams and quads on the same day. After a month or so, I like to switch it up and work them out seperately. I think both ways work well, but I prefer working them on the same day. It just depends on what works best for you.

I've just split mine up and am having phenominal results. It allows you to hammer the quads fully without holding back mentaly thinking 'I better save a little for hams'. I now do hams with back.

I have tried both ways many times.

I always come back to what works better for me. Quads and Hams together.

I did hams yesterday after Back and Deadlifts and I really didn't like it.

Currently my leg day includes
Squats, leg sled, stiff legged bends, with either some extensions/ham curls or lunges.
Somebody mind droping a few lines on how they would split up their legs and what exercises they do to mainly focus on each part?
