At the gym today I took a body fat test. The trainer used a squeezing caliper tool and pinched my chest, stomach, and leg. Then she plugged the figures into an equation, got my age, and came up with my body fat percentage. It was 6.1%, which I think is a lot lower than I see myself - especially compared to some of the ripped pics recently posted on the board. She said the test was VERY accurate, but I just wanted to know what others thought of this meathod. Oh ya, then in front of everyone she tried to whisper if I was natural - that was kinda awkward. Anyway, let me know what you think.

I got the calipers done once... i thought I was at 11-12%, I came out at 8.7%. The lady who did it said the test was pretty accurate, no more than a 1% margin of error. But the immersion version is by far the most accurate. I'll stick with the calipers though, as that ones free -PhatD ------------------

I've heard skin fold methods can very from 3-4% margin of error. Depends on the number of sites they take measurements from, if they use your weight, etc. |
