SOME PEOPLE THAT DID TIME IN STATE PRISONS COME OUT OF THEIR 20 LBS BIGGER THAN WHEN THEY WENT IN. SO HOW CAN THEY GET SO BIG, WHEN THEY ONLY GET ABOUT 1500 CALORIES A DAY?     | ||

A FEW OF MY BUDDIES WHO'VE BEEN IN SAY THE FOOD IN PRISON IS GREAT FOR GAINING WEIGHT. LOTS OF BREAD, MEAT, AND POTATOS. I'VE NEVER HEARD OF THE 1500 CAL THING, THOUGH. Well just think about it...You rest alot...You lift hard and heavy...some times twice a day....eat like an animal...... This I am sure does not hold true in all prisons but a majority do...I have friends that been locked up and swole up....Oh and another thing if they want gear in there they have and can get it..... Yeah...We pay for them to get big! (Taxes) This world is crazy. They should be in a little closet somewhere. Instead they probably eat better than you and I! Train all day, eat, sleep! Makes me want to go to jail.  Cheers, Jay | ||

Inmates don't eat 1500 calories , they eat about 3x that and sit on their asses all day watching Ricki Lake. Prison food is loaded with fat. Not to mention snickers from the canteen. I work at a jail and the average prisoner comes in all cracked out and tiny. In a matter of months they put on 50lbs and have definately gotten bigger, but its all fat. Some muscle for the ones who do work out. And I hope they would gain muscle . All they do is eat and sleep. If you could get all the juice you wanted in prison it would be ideal for buildingmuscle. SLEEP AND FOOD AND WEIGHT = HUGE! | ||

Our Cali prisons don't authorize free weights anymore, because I think a while back they were used as weapons. I wonder how massive somone could get just doing pullups, dips and pushups... ------------------ | ||

All you have is time in there!! When I went in last yr.,I was on at the time and got locked up in maximum for 23 hrs a day and got LITTLE food.I lost 15lbs. in 12 days.The food sucks and is way high in fat.Lots of jails do even have any gym equipment-that would really suck. J | ||

Who said anything about 1500 calories, try more like 4500 a day No shit... And not to mention training twice a day when they still had weights. And rest more rest than you could ever imagine. The key ingrediants to SIZE. Thats why the pussy's took away the weights to much fear from to much size. | ||

BIZ is right. Even over here the prisoners can get any steroids they want smuggled inside. There was a documentary about one high profile prisoner over here. They said the reason he came out of prison a lot bigger than he went in, was because of the weight training and steroids he did inside. No further explanation required. | ||

Inmates can get canned tuna, chicken, and ham, and have eggs daily. That, and their daily meals, is more than enough to make great gains. The Zimmerman law, passed in 1998, makes it illegal to purchase NEW weights and equipment for federal (not sure about state) inmates. But guess what, when a machine gets broken, who is the first to fix it? The staff. Weights are a huge deterrant, inmates stay in line so they do not lose their weight priveleges. Take that away, and there are gonna be major problems. I live in Florence, Colorado, home of supermax, and nearly all of my friends work in corrections. They hope like hell that weights are not taken away, because of the shit that would follow. And to all the self-righteous bros, even those who have only inquired about steroids, we could all be in prison, if for nothing else, conspiracy to traffic steroids. I know some very solid guys in prison for BS, so give that a rest about they are there because they deserve to be. And about the high rape percentages, you watch too much OZ bro. | ||

I work in a state prison and they get more than enough calories to grow, the food is basically pretty shitty, i dont eat it. Plus other than workin in the prison or going to school, they can sleep 8-12 hours a day. they took away the free wieghts in ohio back in 93 after the riot in lucasville, but these guys are still big using universals and pushups,etc.  |
