OK I KNOW YOU GUYS WILL BE PISSED.. BUT I LOOKED FOR INFO EVERY WHERE. HOW THE HELL CAN YOU GET THESE DAM AMPULES OPEN. I TRIED A KNIFE AND ANY THING SHARP. FINALLY I BROKE IT AND WASTED THE GEAR..SO FOR ALL YOU PRO'S PLEASE HELP THE NEWBE OUT..THANKS    | ||

Score the neck of the amp with a file or serrated edge of some sort. Then just snap the top off.  | ||

I just wrap a hand-towel around it to protect my hands, grab the base with one hand, pop the top off with my thumb. I've done it hundreds of times, and even with those evil, cheap romanian phenyl-prop. amps, I've only crushed one. It's insanely easy, after you get the hang of it. ------------------ | ||

Clean it off with Alcohol first incase any little pieces of glass fall in. Take a pen cap put it over the top, wrap with with paper towel and snap the little fucker. I had some amps of sustanon that were a bitch to open, i scored them and everything, these things were thick as hell.. KeVD | ||

go down to the hardware store ask for a 12" rounded file,lay the amp down sideways,score and turn it till you get all 4 sides gently snap it off. | ||

I found that a cheap stamp that I got on easter works great for opening amps  . However, for those of you who didnt get a seemingly useless orange stamp while easter egg hunting can use a pen top instead. Haven't crushed an amp yet, thought I must admit they dont exactly break clean.------------------ Find me at: | ||

Don't worry about buying anything. I've done this with MANY, MANY amps. Wrap your hand in a cloth towel, place the amp between your thumb and forefinger, takea pen cap *BIC or otherwise* but it over the top of the amp, cover the whole hand with the rest of the towel and snap! I've never shattered an amp. ------------------ | ||

The Home Depot sells a pack of six miniature files for about $6. Just score around the neck a couple of times and pop the top off. They work great. I've never wasted an amp since. ------------------ My mother never saw the irony in calling me a son-of-a-bitch. | ||
