Cardio should be done in the mornings as it will increase your metabolism for the rest of the day. However, weight training should be done in the evenings while your natural hormone levels are at their peak following your body's ciccadian rythym.

Stew Meat I have to agree with you on the cardio thing ... and even before meals in the more is excellent for burning fat (probably the best time), but as far as waking up goes ... I always thought that natural testosterone levels were higher in the morning, then in the evening?? Hence the morning hard on, and why everyone luvs sex the next morning!!! Any truth to this?? around 9:30-10:00 p.m. alot of times i take a nap after work, and so i go late. i also feel i have more energy because i have had all but on of my meals, so i have a lot of calories and carbs to burn! ------------------ | ||

i would also say its best to workout after eating, just from my experience of tryin all sorts of methods. i prolly lead the most idealistic life in any bodybuilders eyes, i get as much sleep as i want since i can skip most of my classes(quite easy). i'm sure some guys may disagree with me on this one but i like to train two times a day occasionally. i'll train one body part around 10 am and another around 8 pm. both of these times feel good on my body as long as the temperature in the gym is nice and i ate about an hour before the workout | ||

Gotta say, I work out with some pretty big guys. They get me out of bed at 5 am Mon-Fri. I've been getting out of bed at 4 am drink an isopure blended with ice and 8 egg whites and then 1 Adipo Kenetics add (d-bol if in a cycle) and then back to bed. Sleep for another hour and then off to the gym. My body thrives on morning workouts as it hasn't been used and is fresh in the morning. I agree an empty stomach will burn more calories but also feed on the muscle due to cortisol levels. I think after a month or so my body wants to workout in the morning more so than the evening. Just recently added the evening workout to the routine to cover those smaller muscles that don't get that much attention traps, calves, Neck, Forearms. It's easy and only takes 45 min max. Maybe I'll hit the same muscle again in the evening if the morning workout wasn't up to par. Seeing great results so far I think I'll stick with it.. | ||
