Cardio should be done in the mornings as it will increase your metabolism for the rest of the day.
However, weight training should be done in the evenings while your natural hormone levels are at their peak following your body's ciccadian rythym.

Stew Meat I have to agree with you on the cardio thing ... and even before meals in the more is excellent for burning fat (probably the best time), but as far as waking up goes ... I always thought that natural testosterone levels were higher in the morning, then in the evening?? Hence the morning hard on, and why everyone luvs sex the next morning!!! Any truth to this??

Tuesday/Thursday-Lift 6:30p.m., Wednesday/Friday-Cardio-5:30a.m., Saturday/Sunday-Lift 11:00a.m.

This works the best for me. I was lifting at
5:00a.m. for quite a while, but just too
weak. Started seeing my chest deflate before
my very eyes Went back to evenings and mid-mornings on weekends.

weights always around 6pm.

If I do the weights too early I'm all fucked up and can't lift as much.

NO, don't workout until you have eaten breakfast. You will NOT burn more fat. What you will burn is more muscle. Your body MUST get energy to fuel that workout. The only source for this energy will be the cortisol's breakdown of the muscle into amino acids and their assembly into glucose. This is extremely catabolic. You will burn the only thing in your body that burns large amounts of fat.

It would be like taking out your car's engine to make it run faster.

YES: Natural testosterone levels are highest in the evening. Actually, the EXACT peak times of hormone levels are directly correlated with body temperature. You can find your own hormonal ciccadian rythym by checking your body temperature throughout the day for a week. Take the aggregate of the time that your peak body temperature was reached and this is the exact time when workouts will be most beneficial.

This time will occur between 5 and 8 o'clock in 98% of individuals. Research shows that these ciccadian rythyms will change only slightly throughout the year.

I train after work around 11pm. I work second shift and my gym is open 24hours a day. Works out well.

around 9:30-10:00 p.m. alot of times i take a nap after work, and so i go late. i also feel i have more energy because i have had all but on of my meals, so i have a lot of calories and carbs to burn!

around 8.00 p.m. two hours after dinner usually not very busy in the small gym I workout don't have to wait till the weights are free. and no groups of guys talking about nothing

i would also say its best to workout after eating, just from my experience of tryin all sorts of methods. i prolly lead the most idealistic life in any bodybuilders eyes, i get as much sleep as i want since i can skip most of my classes(quite easy). i'm sure some guys may disagree with me on this one but i like to train two times a day occasionally. i'll train one body part around 10 am and another around 8 pm. both of these times feel good on my body as long as the temperature in the gym is nice and i ate about an hour before the workout

Stew - What do you recommend to eat as I get to the gym at 5am and get up at 4:30, not a lot of time to eat. My weight days are MWF and my cardio days are Tu,Th and I just got a step mill at home so I will add Sat to the cardio. On cardio days I know I should not eat but what about the lift days, what is best given the short period of time?

Alright what is wpi? Seen it and something else similar recently in posts and not sure what the abbreviation is? Search gives you nothing back for wpi.

Gotta say, I work out with some pretty big guys. They get me out of bed at 5 am Mon-Fri. I've been getting out of bed at 4 am drink an isopure blended with ice and 8 egg whites and then 1 Adipo Kenetics add (d-bol if in a cycle) and then back to bed. Sleep for another hour and then off to the gym. My body thrives on morning workouts as it hasn't been used and is fresh in the morning. I agree an empty stomach will burn more calories but also feed on the muscle due to cortisol levels. I think after a month or so my body wants to workout in the morning more so than the evening. Just recently added the evening workout to the routine to cover those smaller muscles that don't get that much attention traps, calves, Neck, Forearms. It's easy and only takes 45 min max. Maybe I'll hit the same muscle again in the evening if the morning workout wasn't up to par. Seeing great results so far I think I'll stick with it..
