With thigh injections, is this common? For all you guys out there who have done a lot of thigh injections, how many times have you hit a nerve? A vein?     | ||

It's VERY easy to hit a nerve if you doing injections on the 'top' muscle of the thigh, I did it my first time injecting there. I would suggest moving to the side of the thigh, where the chance is a bit lower. Hit the outer front about half way up. Measure it by using 1 hand span from above the knee. They are more common than hitting in the glute, but still pretty rare. It depends on you, some people have more luck than others. Just remember to aspirate and if the pin gets blood in it reposition. |
