I want to work out 4 days a week. What muscle groups should be worked out and on what days. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

** Will Whey protein really make a difference if I am new to body building?

YOU COULD TRY THIS
MONDAY-CHEST, BICEPS AND FORARMS
TUESDAY-BACK AND TRICEPS
WEDNESDAY-REST
THURSDAY-LEGS
FRIDAY-SHOULDERS
SATURDAY AND SUNDAY-REST
WHEY PROTEINIS GREAT. TRY TO GET 1 1/2-2 GRAMS OF PROTEIN PER POUND OF BODY WEIGHT, GET IT FROM FOODS LIKE CHICKEN, LEAN RED MEATS, TUNA, FISH, TURKEY, PEANUT BUTTER ECT.... IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS YOU CAN E-MAIL ME ANYTIME. BEST OF LUCK

The above both look good, however if your in a cutting down stage try the following:

Mon: chest and legs
Tue: bis and tris
Wed: off
Thur: shoulders and back
Fri: off
Sat: forearms, traps, and calves
sun: off

I've found that hitting larger muscles groups on the same day really cuts into fat reduction. Add cardio on 2 of those off days if possible. Preferably in the morning before eatting.

As for protein, whey is excellant, but keep the meats lean and plentiful.

since you are new to lifting your initial gains are going to be from neurological factors rather than muscle hypertrophy.
A.K.A. you'll reach a plateau after your initial gains, this is especially when you want to hit your body with extra protien and suppliments.

I workout five days a week.
Mon-chest
Tues-Back
Wed-shoulders
thurs-arms
fri-legs
I isolate one muscle group a day so that i can beteer concentrate on it. I am a beleiver that large muscle groups like back and chest and legs need a whole day to themselves and should not be paired with other smaller muscle groups.
