I take up to 10 Shakes a day with no problem. Really I get so sick of food and need to get the Nutrients so the alternative is shakes. Too many shakes will never hurt you.

I drink 5 double scoop Nitro-Techs a day. So with milk, that's 250 grams of protein just from shakes. Took my stomach a while to get used to that though.

The idea that it is dangerous to consume too much protein over time is unfortunatley one of the most pervasive nutritional myths remaining today. An experiment revealed that rodents on high protein diets developed a rather serious kidney condition known as nephrocalcinosis. This had NOT BE DETECTED IN HUMAN BEINGS!!
Now for individuals with pre-existing liver or kidney disease, this issue then becomes a very important one. If not drink as much protein as you want, about 85 to 95 percent of all protein ingested is absorbed adequately, hope this helped later

I really disagree with taking more then 3 shakes a day... You should really be getting your calories from Food!! It is just not the same thing eating a nice piece of meat or drinking a shake...

And you can eat to much protein... You get what is called gout! Protein is hard for your body to digest and if you take too much it can really effect you.

That is just my .02..

Gear is so right. the human body was meant to have real food intake. protein shakes are supposed to be used as supplements, not to replace real food. i used to drink 4 shakes a day and eat 2 real meals. now i eat 6 meals and have only one shake. i feel a lot better and my gains are definately greater. try real food for a few weeks and you'll know what im talking bout

Everything we do as bodybuilders is hard on the body. We eat way more than average people, many of us take steroids, which can have it's consequences on down the road with continuious use, and we lift much more weight than what our bodies were naturally intended to. It's all part of our lives. It's bodybuilding!

Even with Equipose, I can never manage to eat nearly enough whole foods to gain weight, so not only do I supplement with protein powders, I use weight gainer powders too. 3-5 solid meals a day, 4-6 shakes a day. I have a cast-iron stomach though, never have any digestive problems, not even gas, so I guess I'm digesting everything alright. Plus, i'm gaining weight like mad on this cycle, so I think my diet is working alright Everyone is different, try what works... though if I could, I'd get as many calories as possible through solid food... *sigh*, but not all things are possible -PhatD

There's another reason why the majority of calories should come from whole, unprocessed foods: they contain a shitload of chemicals, of which only a fraction have been isolated and identified, which are beneficial to health.
