My chest, and biceps are my 2 main lagging bodyparts, I got big arms due to big tris, but my biceps need some work, and my chest, so im gonna hit them twice a week. What do you think of this split? Mon: Legs Today was the first day of hitting chest twice, I was not even planning on doing chest(I just hit it tuesday) but when I got to the gym I was fuckin around on incline, and I felt strong, so I ended up doing chest and broke out 315 on incline for 6 perfect reps, which is Alot more han ive ever done, ive never went oveer 275. But I want to know what you guys think of this for brining up a lagging bodypart?

Wow, you've never done over 275lbs and today you did 315lbs 6 times, I'd say that you have a very good spotter!LOL. But seriously, it's ok to work a body part out twice a week, but at the same time you run the risk of overtraining. Listen to your body and you'll be good to go. ------------------

I do chest twice a week, heavy day and then a light speed day, 2 to 3 days after the heavy day, I compete in powerlifting and it has made my chest grow and get stronger.

Bump. Actually I usually get 275 for 6 on incline, but 315 came out for 6 this time. But it could be the gram of sust a week kicking in too lol.

Although you have made it quite clear that you work your chest twice a week, you have forgoten to include the vital information of how much you are doing and what excercises you are doing. If you are only doing 6 sets each time you work your chest (twice a week) than you are probably ok. If you are doing 12 sets, equalling 24 sets a week, than you are overtraining. A good rule to follow is that you only want to do 12-15 sets on a major muscle group every 7 days. Although this may seem oldschool, it has given me awesome results. Bare in mind that the amount of ecercise you give a bodypart per week and the results you get from that excersise will differ greatly from person to person. Ultimately, try things out, and if they work.........stick with them.

I advise AGAINST working the same bodypart 2x per week. However, if you must, have a heavy day and a light day. ON the light day, go for a higher rep range. The only bodypart that I have trained like this is abdominals. Otherwise I find myself overtraining.

It's really hard to say, because everybody has different genetics and a different recovery rate. I will say that in all the people I've either lifted with or trained, there were only a few that had good results with two/week, it just isn't enough time to recover if you are really hammering them.

I wouldn't try it unless you're ON. I know a few friends that have had success training like this: Mon-Chest/shoulders/Tris Thurs and Fri are light workouts. Each workout lasts around 40minutes except for legs day lasts an hour.
