The cops busted me with 200 d-bol's and a vial of test..Anyone know what im in for.?..Charged me with possession of controled substance...Got a letter yesterday that said I owe $2500 in taxes they are gonna garnish my paycheck ... Never been in any trouble with the law.. Jail more fines please help.....     | ||

o yeah they arrested me $5000 secured bond..Suxs ..The irony is I bet the pigs are swelling up right now | ||

So you paid $500 with colateral. Do they have you? I would get a good lawyer. $5000 will get you a solid lawyer. If its posession, it should be a 3 degree felony. it will be a year or so before they even try my case..went for 1st apperance they set my court date for 6 months away. | ||

Your going to trial? If you lose they will give you the max! You only go to trial if you are sure you are going to win! If you arent going to win, take a plea. Depending on what state you are in they will drop it down to a misdeamenor because of case overload. They will also try to plea bargain the case out, so you rbest option if you were caught red handed is to take the plea. The plea will probably be possession, but make sure you are not pleaing out to a felony because that will stay on you record for atleast 7 years and some people won't hire you and you will not be able to get certain types of liscenses. | ||

All I know my lawyer went in a room with the DA came out and said they want to try your case.I dont think my lawyer knows wtf he is doing. There is a dispute about an illegal entry into my apartment. | ||

If there is a question, your lawyer will take the facts in front of the judge. The judge will either say there was illegal search and seizure and throw the case out, or he will say the cops followed procedure. This happened last in Jan..I was in my house sleepin.the wind blew the door open and my neighbors called the cops. I am a heavy sleeper and they yelled and I didnt hear them.My door was screwed up kinda looked like someone broke in.They came upstairs with guns drawn woke me up brought me downstairs.There on the coffee table was a bag of weed.Then they wanted to search they found my gear and didnt arrest me till 2 weeks later.. | ||

Did they have a warrent? What was the probable cause? They cant just come in! If the door was open and the pot was in plain view they do not need a warrant. At that point they have probable cause to search the whole house. It is called the "plain view exception". |
