Hey deisel, The retin A cream works good but it might irratate your skin and leaving it being red and dry, depending on what time of skin you have. It will be perfect for your body, but you might want to use it very very sparingly on your face as it can really irratate the skin. As far as Accutane, it is some harsh shit but it works like a charm. I personally have never used it but after my current cycle i am going to get a script from the doc for. If you really want to use it and have the doc prescribe it to you, here are a few things you can do. 1. Go to a Dermatologist that you have never seen before. Tell him or her that you have never had acne on your back or chest until recently and you have been prescribed topical creams and antibiotics form other docs and they dont work. Say you have researched the risks and am willing to put up with the side effects.(If yoiu havent researched it yet, i would before you decide or even consider using this stuff). If she says no... 2. Say fine, i am going to do it regardless of what you say. Tell her you will obtain it and use it anyway because it is affecting your social life and shit like that. SHe will probably prescribe it then because doctors dont want to hear that you will be doing it without a prescription and all the blood and liver tests that are preformed while on accutane. I hope i have helped and if you decide to try accutane, i hope that you have insurance to cover it because that shit is expensive. Later bro!!!

I agree with what AMan. Accutane is great and it works. I would only add that you find a dermatologist who focuses on cosmetic dermatology (ones who do laser peels and stuff like that). A first derm I went gave me topicals even though it wasnt helping. I dumped her and went to one who specialized in cosmetic procedures and got it without any problems. Since they are already geared to appearance concerns they are usually very willing to prescribe accutane.

man, go with the retin a cream. i've tried everything and i would say to go with the retin a cream. accutane works, trust me, the shit works, but it should be a last resort. i did it, and i have excellent skin now, but when i was on it, i became so messed up. my lips chaped, cracked, bled, my face peeled, my acne got worse, like really bad before i got clear, and my lips used to hurt constantly. yea, retin a will make your face red, but thats what it's supposed to do. once it has peeled a little and you get used to it, you go back to normal. try to get this stuff called AVITA. it's a topical version of accutane. the shit is good, that's what i use now. or get an acid peel, never done that but i heard it works. there's my advice, hope you read it! ------------------ |
