quote: Ohhhh.. I remember what you were talking about. hehehe The reason is that it doesn't contain as much protein. The problem with kidneys while taking large doses of protein stems from the break down of the protein. The chemical formula of amonia is NH4. Whenever large amounts of protein are consumed, there is a high nitrogen content in the body. Well, not all of the H that is on the outside of the mitochondria makes it into the electron transport chain. Some of it joins to the nitrogen that is a by product of protein metabolism and makes NH4 which must be excreted from the cell and is a bitch on the kidneys. The more nitrogen you have in your body, the more amonia you will have building up in your kidneys. This is why anyone on AS should drink 1-2 gallons of water per day, to keep them flushed. BTW, the way that DNP works is that it blocks the pathway that couples the "sparks" from the electron transport chain to ATP. Since the reaction isn't coupled, the energy builds up throughout the cells in your body and as a result increases the body heat. This is also one way that the body regulates its own body heat (antagonising ATP electron transprot chain coupling).

Ah, I knew you had some info here, Stew. My gout question disappeared to the back pages, but basically, out of nowhere my right knee swelled up, got red and hot to the touch, and was very painful. I thought I had an infection from leg injections, but the Doc said it was gout from too much protein, or too much of the wrong kind of protein - red meat. Pretty hard to achieve the results we want on reduced protein, and I eat steak every day.....shit, I hate tuna. I'll follow your advice on protein, cut out orals for a while, try the cherry juice, and see what happens. These docs just throw meds at you, but that's a short term fix, although the vicodin is nice....... Hope the easter bunny put redijects in all your baskets, bros. | ||
