you might be overtraining...add pullovers to your chest...and what do you do on your chest...and how many times a week do you work it out?take a week off if you can.... ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

ultra sorry for all the yelling but im just getting really discouraged.. currently i hit inclines first alternating between dbs and bbs, then ill hit flat alternating dbs and bbs every other week as well, then ill do incline flys, then ill finish off with maybe the hammer strength seated chest press or some pullover really heavy, and a few slow dips for stretch.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

MY CHEST IS ONE OF MY BETTER BODY PARTS. I FIND DOING 4 SETS OF 6-8(HEAVIEST WEIGHT POSSABLE WITH OUT GETING OUT OF GOOD FORM) REPS OF EACH BODY PARTS WORKS BEST FOR ME. MY ROUTINE LOOKS LIKE THIS INCLINE FLYS INCLINE PRESS(DUMBELL) FLAT BENCH(BARBELL) CABLE CROSSOVERS I FIND THAT THIS WORKS VERY WELL FOR ME, GIVE IT A TRY AND SEE WHAT YOU THINK. I USED TO DO A LOT OF DECLINE BUT I DID NOT LIKE THEM AND MY CHEST WAS JUST NOT GROWING. NOW ONLY IF I COULD GET MY BI'S TO CATCH UP TO THE REST OF MY BODY ![]() M18 ------------------ [This message has been edited by MUSTANG_18 (edited April 13, 2001).] ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

well bro try this pick 3-4 workouts...and about 13 sets...swicth your reps always like very 6-9 weeks.....before any bench like flat or incline do flys..do incline flat flys corssovers and pullovers...or try this...and take a week off...to let your chest know you are about to "ultrashock" it..... -----superset--------------- ------READ--BELOW------ ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Don't worry about it, most people have a sucky body part. It's too bad though yours is the chest. Here's my workout, maybe this'll help. flat bench (barbell) 4 sets Whatever workout you do, make sure lift past failure. That's the only way to tear down the muscles sufficiently to build them up again. ![]() ![]() ![]()

hey diesel, you mention hitting inclines and 2 different flat benches but left out declines. you need to hit chest from every angle and not with just press after press but coordiante flyes as well as cable crossovers to stretch the pec and then you will have size, striations and definition all together. trust me it will work for you...good luck ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I find that lowering the weight CONSIDERABLY and getting strict form (ass and lower back pressed tight against the bench) as well as starting with Inclines do wonders. Don't impress the guys at the gym with your weights, impress the people with your development. ------------------ For a good time click here: Search and Profiles (300Kleens Board) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Good point Slo, if your form sucks, you're cheating yourself. With a barbells, I barely graze my chest, and sort of squeeze it at the bottom. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Guys what do you think about doing chest twice a week? I find that once a week is not enough for me, but then again my chest is growing slowly maybe because I overtrain it. Slopain, Ultra what do you guys think? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

you want a huge chest, work it 3 times a week!!!when you work the pecks let the pecks push the weight,NOT THE ARMS.big mistake with most people. It is all form!!!! Flat DB and pullies should do this for you if you. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

quote: bullshit. if you want to build a muscle what you need is R-E-C-O-V-E-R-Y. hit your chest once a week,in the same day you hit shoulders and triceps (if you don't, this muscles could be allready fatigued from previous workouts and could fail before your chest, not letting the chest going to faliure). Do chest first. Warm up and do 3 of heavy stes of a compound movement as flat dbp or bbp, than a couple of sets of inclines or flies. Add forced reps here and there, rest and watch your pecs grow. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Do some f@cking decline barbell presses and some f@cking decline dumbbell flys 4 sets each, heavy and to failure and I guarantee you that your f@cking chest will grow. Also, forget about those f@cking incline movements because they f@cking suck and are only good for building up your f@cking front dealts. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I used to think the same think until I realized all of my pec development was by increased thickness. I have very small pecs as seen from the front. From the side though, I have been making steady improvements in pec thickness to go with the strength gains. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Juandelacruz. I disagree with you.Alot of people with well developed chest did lots of inclines(Arnold,Columbo).I heard in Franco Columbos Teenage years when he lived in Italy all they had was a flat board. They layed it against the wall on an incline and di alot of this.I think this had alot to do with his chest development. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hit your chest at everyangle possible...Flat, Incline, And Decline... once or twice a week depending on your recovery time and genetics and diet....Too much means you'll have too little... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Franco and Arnold's pec routine was centered around the flat bench barbell press and flat bench dumbbell flys. I feel that if they never touched and incline movements their chests would of been just as good. Its my opinion and that's the way I feel. Sure inclines do stimulate growth in the pecs, but decline and flat bench are a whole lot better. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Slopain ---> 100% Correct. Try to focus on Proper Form. Super slow, will help break sticking points. You will need to lower weight a great deal, however you will feel deep pain after one work out. Good Luck. Don't ever ever ever Quit. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

i've always got good results by hitting my chest hard on mondays. flat barbell reps, 12,8,8,6, incline, same 12,8,8,6 then i go to dumbells and go till failure. then i hit fly's, flat and incline. some of you may say this is over training, but it's not for me. then on friday's i max out. it gave me good results. another thing that might be your problem is you may need to shock your muscle into growing. someone already told you about supersets, i've done that, but i've also done drop sets, those seemed to work good too. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I use to work my chest every monday and thursday. I swithed to doing it every 6 days and and love it. For one, it gives me more recovery time...I feel i may have been overtraining it. Also, I was getting burned out doing chest that much. Swithching to every 6 days helped me not to get burned out. It was extremely difficult to change since i had been doing the same routine for some time, but it was well worth it. day 1 chest/tris day 2 back/bis day 3 rest day 4 legs day 5 shoulders day 6 rest and repeating starting day 7 Now that i think of it im going to switch my switch leg and shoulder day around giving 2 days between chest and shoulders. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
