I don't know if this is the answer but it might help. I've read that having a high protein and meat diet causes more of a lactic acid build up than a diet high in vegetables and fruits. So basically you should start eating more vegetables and fruits and you should see some improvements. By the way, do you eat enough veges and fruits? ![]() ![]() ![]()

I don't see how the veggies and fruits would have any effect on lactic acid. Lactic acid is the byproduct of the anaeronic metabolism of glycogen into ATP. When there is no oxygen present, the case during heavy weight training, the body uses another metod to produce the ATP necessary to move the weight. Perhaps the increases intensity is requiring more energy needs thus creating more byproduct of the anaerobic metabolims of energy...lactic acid. When muscles are contracting lactic acid is unable to be removed from the muscle. The lower Ph induced by the lactic acid causes the burn. Once the muscle contraction cease blood is able to flow to and through the muscle again and remove the lactic acid. It is separated in the blood into lactate and hydrogen and the burn will stop. That would mean longer rest between sets will help ease the burn and enable to to resume another set. Another idea might be the fact that the muscle is bigger which will produce more lactic acid as well as have the capacity to temporarily store(during contraction) a larger amount of lactic acid. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
