i was wondering whether men had levels of this hormone, as it might help explain why some men get deca induced gyno whereas others dont. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Yep we got progesterone. Can say for sure cuz I had a hormone test done a while back...higher than normal test levels (I hadn't done juice at the time either)...higher than normal progesterone levels...lower than normal estradiol levels. At least in non-juicers, the level of progesterone is an inverse function of estrogen...IOW, the less estrogen ya got the more progesterone ya got. Not sure on all its functions for either sex though. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Do you not have a disease in which you don't have any aromatase enzymes? I know that it is incredibly rare to naturally have supraphysiologic levels of testosterone. ALso, I might be wrong but no I don;t think men have any progesterone at all. Your doc said you have high progesterone? I have never even heard of that being tested for in a male. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

HE did say that he wasn't juicing. I don't know if he meant he had above average, physiological testosterone levels or if he meant he had supraphysiological, "pharmacological" testosterone levels. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Just reread my reply. Let me clear a few things up. My test results came back that I had high normal levels of testosterone (once again this is before I juiced at all), meaning that I am within the normal range of testosterone levels, on the high end. My estradiol levels were below normal for a male. Males do produce small amounts of estrogen just as females produce a small amount of testosterone. I just asked to have my testosterone and estradiol levels checked but also got the progesterone levels done at the same time. The progesterone levels came out higher than is average for a male of my age. I later read elsewhere that guys w/ lower than normal estrogen levels usually have higher than normal progesterone levels. As a final proof that males have progesterone in their bodies I quote from www.highlandpharmacy.com/progesterone.html: "Natural Progesterone is an exact duplicate of the Natural Progesterone produced by both the female and the male bodies. NP is produced by the female body primarily in the corpis luteum after ovulation occurs, and secondarily by the adrenal glands. Natural Progesterone is produced in the male body in very small amounts in the testes" ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
