HEY GUYS, I HAVE FINISHED MY FIRST CYCLE AND I HAVE INCREASED ACNE AND IT IS EVEN WORSE THEN BEFORE I STARTED. I HAVE TRIED ALMOST EVERYTHING(TANNING, STEAM ROOM, B-5, ANTI-BACTERIAL SOAP AND TONS OF FACE WASHES)I WANT TO TRY ACCUTAIN BUT WAS PLANNING ON STARTING MY SUMMER CYCLE IN A ABOUT A COUPLE OF MONTHS AND ACCUTAIN IS VERY HARD ON YOUR LIVER SO I DO NOT THINK I WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO USE IT WHILE ON CYCLE AND IT TAKES A WHILE TO KICK IN. IS THERE ANYTHING THAT YOU WOULD RECOMEND OR SHOULD I GO FOR THE ACCUTAIN. I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO START MY SUMMER CYCLE ON TIME BUT IF IT MEANS GETING RID OF THIS ACNE THEN I WILL WAIT. just go to your doc, most likely they give u long term oral antibiotics for acne, (tetracycline). Using the tetracycline is way safer than accutane, so they prescribe it with no prob. Sometimes accutane if u r bad cystic acne, but only if its bad cuz there are the bad side effects--ask them about it, its true it is bad for the liver and can screw up your body's oil glands permanently if not used right. They also have topical antibiotics, which is what I use, ETS, (erythromycin topical solution) it works pretty good for me. it is a totally clear solution u can put it on day and nite. I use it when I need it if I break out. I recommend using the accutane only with doctor advice to save yourself some grief. | ||

I dont know if you've used oral antiboitics for ance, but if you have how would you compare them to topical? | ||

I dont know if you've used oral antiboitics for acne, but if you have how would you compare them to topical? I used oral antibiotics when is was younger like 19 for acne. It definitely helps, BUT you have to be on it for like 3 mos before it really starts to clear your skin, and tetracycline has to be taken on empty stomach always for it to be absorbed and has to be taken everyday for however long u want to be clear. The acne comes back after u stop taking it, but hopefully it will be much less by the time u stop. Oral antibiotics is prob what a doc would prescribe before topical for acne that is moderate to kinda bad. Or maybe they would prescribe both. Mild acne would be treated more with topical. If its not bad, topical will work good. Also always use liquid neutrogena acne fash wash. It works great to prevent. | ||

ive used tetracyline,but i hated having to take it on an empty stomach, so i am on doxycyline now ,my derm said it was less important to worry about taking doxy on an empty stomach so i take it with food or anytime usually,i like the results. Also i have differin gel,but i think the antiboitics do the most,i can get away with not using the gel and washing with neturgena ance wash. I just was asking about topical because its probably safer than being on oral antiboitics forever ,i asked my derm about it but she said for the type of ance i have topicals or accutane would not work as good as oral antibotics. What works better topical antiboitics by itself or differin by itself? if uve used differin ,i dont know | ||

the doxycycline is going to give u the best results...topical antibiotics will not be as strong... never used differin...I hear it works like retin A though, not sure. u wont be on doxy the rest of your life, just for a few years most likely, it aint gonna hurt ya much so dont worry about it. if it works and is not causing u probs stick with it. Most likely when u stop the doxy ( a few years), your body will be less "acnegenic". | ||

taking clomid made my acne worse.. i took minocine(sp) and differen gel. both were prescribed to me now that i am done my clomid my acne is about half gone... another month and i should me beautiful.. try that if you want | ||

i took minocycline, tropical creams, over the counter, prescribed, you name it. Finally i gave up and went with accutane. In two weeks I'm just about cleared up after like 5 months of hell. I'm on it right now. Its not as bad as everyone makes it sound. All I have is chapped lips. People have told me they take it while they're cycling. And one guy told me he tans 1 week after stopping and he looks just fine. Accutane is a miracle drug! | ||

My Dr. had me on antibiotics for like six months (two different kinds can't remeber which) and all that happened in that time was my acne was getting worse. Switched Dr.'s, went on Accutane and cleared right up. I was also on a light cycle at the time, and did not have any bad sides. One topical that works great, is Triaz. It dries out the area applied to an within two days clears it up. Different things work for different people, but the most important thing is getting it taken care of before you start to scar. | ||
