I am getting ready to do some serious dieting but I thought someone might be interested in reading how I did this. Like I said, I started at 215 (many years of weight training and athletics) did a cycle of test 500mg/week for 8 weeks with the middle 4 weeks using Ref-B at about 1.5cc's per day. Gained 30 lbs, took 2 months off, lost about 5 lbs only. Next cycle was combination of test enanthate and sust, with EQ and dbol. 1G of test (total) per week for 8 weeks, 50 mg of dbol for for 5 weeks, and 300mg of Ultragan in weeks 5 - 10. Gained 25 lbs. Lost about 5 when I took 2 months off. Repeated above cycle with test dosage at 1250 per week. Gained about 20 lbs and am currently finishing the ultragan and low dose test. I will use Ultra at about 200mg per week for a couple of months while I diet. This is obviously a MASS oriented way to cycle, but I think it makes sense to get BIG then to focus on cutting cycles. I won't do another mass cycle for a while (don't need to). I can do light cycles to maintain my size now. Anyway, I don't post much but I thought this would start an interesting discussion between those who favor lighter cycles and those who don't.

You seem to have good genetics for growth. I think that has (had) a larger impact than the doses you used. ------------------

Good way to do it bro!!!! Always build a good foundation of mass before cutting up and it sounds as if you did a good job on the cycling!! ------------------

Nice job. Sounds a lot like my past year on gear. I went from 240lb. to 300lb. in only one years time. I don't really want to lose weight, just maintain scale weight and lower bodyfat is what I'm interested in. Its pretty low right now at 11.4% but I'd like to get it below 10%. Anyway, nice job....

Thanks! Yes, I have good genetics and yes, I put on a little fat, too. I would love to stay this big (or bigger) but my job (from which I have recently taken an 18 month hiatus) requires that I run (physical fitness tests), hence the need to slim down a little. A caveat to my previous story is that while I grew tremendously, my tendons and ligaments were not very cooperative. I had a few injuries. One (shoulder) was severe, but I went to the gym and did what I could (mostly light flies and machines) and now I am benching 405 again. {Lesson: Don't use injuries as excuses} If I had to do all over again, I don't think I would change anything. I did notice, however, that tapering the test while introducing anabolics (EQ) at the end of the cycle seems to make a noticable difference in keeping the gains. Thanks for the encouragement! By The Way: You guys ever see a bald 285lb freak running down the street? I'm sure I look ridiculous. Another point: none of my clothes fit!!!!!

BB-1: What were you doing for workouts? How many days per week? How many body parts per day? Were you concentrating on big muscle exercises, i.e., deadlifts, bench, squat, or did you mix it up? Did you notice any part of your body jump more than the rest? Just curious, I noticed big change in my back and traps last time and I was using a test ultra mix similar to yours.

Did you happen to have hair before the 1G test cycles?

Very good I would like to gain 70 lbs in a year, but to do heavy cycles would take my hair and I wan't to keep it (ALL). lol

VERY FUNNY! Yes, I was bald long before I used AS! My workouts were basically a four day split. Usually I would work each muscle once a week. My traps did seem to be one of the most noticably bigger muscles, now that you mention it. I always included: benches, squats, and deads (except when my lower back got sore from the d-bol). Basically three exercises per muscle at 3 sets each. I started with a power exercise (squat, bench...) for 3 sets of 3-6 reps. The next two exercises were either isolation or another compound one at 10 - 12 reps. I try to alternate heavy and light workouts, too. BTW, I am 6' tall... |
