i'm not being an ass. i am just freaked out! and it seems no one gives a shit. to make a long story short; i have been doing delt injections for a while and about 2 weeks ago i fucked up((turning the needle while inside the muscle on accident)) well, when i pulled it out blood went everywhere! 20 seconds later my shoulder goes numb. it is the skin that went numb, feels the same as your hand falling alseep. it has been 2 weeks and it is still numb!! when i touch the skin, all i feel is pressure. WHAT CAN THIS BE!? i have another injection day tomorrow. maybe i should skip this delt and do the other delt instead. please, someone help me! Mike001- ------------------     | ||

I really don't know, maybe you nicked a nerve?? I did once in my glute, and my cheek jumped halfway up my back. It was kind of numb for a little while, but not like that. | ||

see, i dont want to go to the damn doc either and say, "yea i stuck a needle in my shoulder, whats wrong with me" they also keep the shit on record! i really dont know what to do. it really feels fucked having a numb shoulder. i know i had hit a nerve and really fucked it up, but im just not sure exactly what i did to it or how long this shit lasts.. bump please!! Man, get that checked out. If it's still numb after all of this time you may have damaged a nerve. Oh. and don't shoot anything else in there until you know it's o.k. | ||

Dont' shoot there again. I have had similar reactions and they usually go away. And it takes time. What gauge are you using this can make a big difference in the delt. I recommend 23g, but it also depends on what you are shooting and how much. | ||

Go to the doc. Lie to him if you have to, but go. Tell him someone shot you with a blow dart. He won't believe you, but who cares. You need to get it checked. | ||

Go to a sports medicine doc...usually they are cool with it...also, you hit a nerve, it will heal in time, the swelling and pressure is probably just internal from bleeding you probably hit a vein too. The artery runs medial to the delt so it's not arterial. Depending on the nerve damage it could take some time. But see a doc...they are there to help not bust. | ||

Only problem is that they will put it on your medical charts. It could come back to haunt you with your insurance in the future. They'll try to blame any problem you have on AS use and not pay for it. Still lie and use the blow dart excuse. | ||

Mike, I won't tell you the doc thing....yet. I've experienced this twice. Last time I was in a hurry and got up too high on the quad. Hit a nerve or tendon, I felt it crunch going in, but fired anyway. It was numb in my hip area for a month, with considerable quad pain, but it went away. The boys are right, if you use insurance, it will be provided to the MIB, which all major insurance companies suscribe to. Follows you around like bad credit. If you go, pay cash. | ||

Sounds like a nerve to me, but see the doc. Was the delt shot done downwards or sideways. I hear that doing them from the side increases the chance of hitting bone, which is supposedly really painful. | ||

carne's right see a sports doc and also dont use anything more than a 27G insulin pin.personally i only hit the delts with a water base like winny with that guage and never had a problem. | ||

You cut some small vessels including a nerve, it will not necessarily heal on it's own, go see a neurologist and most likely, he will give you an injection yes, into the same site that will close the nerve tear. Even if you didn't tear or cut a small nerve, the injection is likely. It is unlikely that you severed a nerve, your hand, wrist and arm would shake like a fish in a boat. Stick your self in the ass, fewer areas of concern, and if you make a mistake, you simply end up with a numb ass for a month or two. Time heals everythng. | ||

I did the same thing a while ago!!! When you moved the needle the chance of slicing a nerve with the tip of the needle is pretty high. The tip of the syringe is not just pointy but you can slice skin if used on an angle. You cut a nerve. I stopped doing delt injections on my last cycle because they were a bitch due to the angle needed. It's easier for a friend to do it but at certain times I was solo at the day of. My shoulder killed when I screwed up my very last delt injection and sounds like I did the same thing you did. Mine only lasted a little more than a week though. Just use the other one ! I inject everything into my thighs now and it works fine. cheers | ||

it is definitly not because the needle got turned that you are in trouble. You must have hit a nerf (as some guys already said). Normally, you can turn the needle all around, as long as you don't hit anything of course. In my opinion you use a "way to thick needle" and a "way to long needle". Don't go for more then 3/4 inch unless you really have thick muscular delts. If you used a 1 1/2 inch needle and do not have huge delts, then you where looking for problems. ------------------ Don't look back, life is too short | ||
