Midwestern bodybuilders take notice: The Natural Southern States Classic and "Xtreme Fit" Championship will be polygraphing every single competitor who enters. NSSC Polygraphs This should be of concern to natural bodybuilders as well as those who have used anabolic steroids. Polygraph "testing" has never been shown by peer reviewed scientific evidence to operate at better than chance levels of accuracy under field conditions. Moreover, this pseudoscientific procedure has a well deserved reputation for falsely accusing many innocent people for every correct detection of deception. Those of you who have trained hard for this or any other show that requires competitors to submit to this foolishness should check out AntiPolygraph.org . AntiPolygraph.org is a non-profit website dedicated to elimination of polygraph "testing" because of its inherent unreliability. Polygraphs were eliminated from the American workplace by the Employee Polygraph Protection Act of 1988 because they simply arent reliable. Unfortunately, the government exempted itself from this legislation, allowing "testing" to continue in public service hiring processes. Aside from government job applicants, bodybuilders are probably the largest group of Americans that are forced to have their honest judged by this 1920s technology. Polygraphy has no place in bodybuilding or any other sport. One wonders what percentage of the entry fee is going to pay a polygrapher (who can be certified with no college and only an 8 week course) $250-$500/hr. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
