Alright guys, this is half teacher half student post - Ill tell you what I know and you tell me what you know. Everyone knows there is no safer, quicker, way to get $ from one location to the next anonomously than a MG or WU transfer. The pros of WU are: they are more widely available than Money Grams. The Pros of MG are they are cheaper and easier to deal with. The cons of both (especially WU) are they constantly fuck up especially with reguards to ID's (you dont need ID's with test questions - they forget this often). At any rate does anyone know the current FEES associated with Money Gram? I visited the web site and didn't see a breakdown (although I was in a hurry). I won't use WU just b/c they are too expensive - but I want to see if MG is an option or not. Add your .02 (or WU headache experiences hehe) and kick down some info if you have it! peace ------------------ For a good time click here: Search and Profiles (300Kleens Board)

Whenever I use MG, its a flat $15 dollar fee for orders up to $400 I think (dont quote me on that). Nonetheless, its $15 for me.

I sent $300 last week through wu. The fuckers charged me $32 or $36 dollars. With the exchange rate and all I was so pissed. I have never heard of moneygram though. Bootyshaker

If you think about it, sending a Global priority or an Overnight with any postal service costs about $10-$30 and is not 100% reliable or trackable. WU and MG are and if you are making a large order then it is worth it.

WU is much more expensive in Moscow, but MG service sucks. It looks like these guys are sending 2-3 wire transfers per month! Sometimes I have to teach them how to wire money! Lol

Please be clear on who that was from Ripped? I know WU is nuts 10% sometimes?? The sad thing is, at least where Im from, most of the people using WU are poorer people sending money (small amounts) too there parents or back home - sucks that they get hit the hardest. ------------------ For a good time click here: Search and Profiles (300Kleens Board)

This is probably a non-issue to you guys, but WU or Moneygram doesn't exactly do a booming business where I'm from. So I go into the supermarket to do the WU thing. I don't look like a recent immigrant without a d/l, I'm rather huge, and I say "No I'll just do the test question." The reason why people use WU is for security, so the clerk is wondering why I want to pay all this money to do WU without ID. I'd prefer to make the payment as anonymous as possible. So cash would be the most anonymous, money order second (because lots of people do get m.o.'s), and WU/Moneygram third. Right? Does direct wire or bank transfer offer any options?

Direct wire/bank is not a good idea unless you trust both ends 100% and even then... The WU and MG thing always works better at the ChecksCashing stores or whatever where thats all they do - and uh hehe you might want to work on that delivery a bit lol try something like this "I lost my ID, and I need to send this money to my dad/sister whatever up in Springfield" And in this instance being big has nothing to do with anything. ------------------ For a good time click here: Search and Profiles (300Kleens Board)

I always use WU - its more expensive, but in my opinion safer and 100% anonymous. They never ask me any questions, I just fill out the form and thats all there is to it. They input the information and collect the money. One time I had a clerk ask me "Someone stuck at the airport?" and I just said "Nope." - They left it at that. WU is the best way to operate in my opinion. rxderrick

I've used MoneyGram a couple of different places, and the fees were different each time. I think that is why they don't post a fee schedule, because each agent can choose its individual prices.

I just sent $1000 today through western union and was charged $68. You need to call moneygram directly to tell them where you are sending to and from and they will give you the fee. When I called them, they said the fee would be $52. Also, Western Union didn't ask for my id since I was sending 1000 or less. Anything more, you need to show ID. At least that is how it is here.
