Some of you may have read my posts about the gyno operation I had. After I had the operation, I was really excited about not having to worry about it again. The doctor said that he removed at least 85% of the mass that was under my nipple, and that it wouldn't cause me any trouble again. When I went back to the doctor for my first post op visit, I asked him why my nipples still looked the same as before I had the surgery. He said that it was from swelling and that it will go away within a few weeks. From my experience with swelling, if you feel around the swollen area, it's supposed to feel kind of soft. This on the other hand feels like there is still a small knot there. The doctor used liposuction to remove the gyno. I'm not sure that lipo will remove a gland though. I thought it only could remove the fatty tissue. If I'm just being impatient, please let me know. I'm kind of torn between thinking the doctor didn't take it all out, or maybe it really is just a little swelling. If he didn't take the entire thing out, I will go back under the knife until he does it right. I'm going back to the doctor in a couple of days for my second post op visit. I would appreciate it if you guys could suggest some questions I should ask my surgeon about my situation.

You may have scar tissue building up in there. If so, you'll need to have your doc give you cortisone shots to get rid of it. Not fun, but you don't want a lump of scar tissue to replace the breast tissue that you just paid to have removed.

Is taking out 85% enough to keep it from reoccuring? Or does it HAVE to be the entire gland?

sometimes the doctor doesnt remove all of the deposit, leaving a bit there, I know two guys that had to go back to get the rest cut out, for free of course.
