Look at Mike001`s post on 160 grams of protien in a meal. I`m sure he shit out a good sized bar after eating all that protien at once.

Sorry 001, I had to do it !

Here are the instructions for the home made protein
bars. I have made some changes from the original due
to preferrences and different protein powder. They
originally called for designer protein powder but I
use Cytosport so you may have to play around with this
to suit yourself.

2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp cream
3/4 cup of chocolate whey protein powder
1 cup chopped pecans (can use other nuts)
1/2 Cup unsweetened coconut
1 square unsweetened chocolate (Bakers)

Melt butter, chocolate, and cream in microwave. Add protein powder, nuts and coconut. At this point the mix is fairly crumbly. Then I add warm water 1 tbsp at a time until the mixture just comes together.

Spread in a plastic lined loaf pan and chill.

The original recipe calls for 3 pkts of Splenda and instead of water to use syrup. I do not know if my protein powder is sweeter than the one used but I found these sweet enough without the extra sweetener.

I think you will find that they take no more than 5 min to make and are a fantastic alternative to the commercial bars out there and so much cheaper. Also there is no glycerin to be concerned with.

If it were me, I would mix in some natural
flavored generic metamucil in whatever
recipe I used. I still can't figure out
why they don't include fiber with protein
products.

I agree with Zeke, i made them sans the fiber and they are a little sticky. I would add some pure psyllium husk to the recipe and they should be perfect. If you follow the recipe ( doubled it when I make them). You get 6 bars with about 28 grams of protein a piece with 8 grams of carbs and 14 grams of fat (I like high fat content, so I add flax and udo's choice to them).

Try this

2 cups natural peanutbutter
8 tbls honey
2 1/4 cups protein powder (wont work with soy protein)
2 cups (uncooked) oatmeal

Conbine peanut butter and honey in a mixing bowl and stir. Microave for 80sec. Add protein powder and oatmeal, and mix well(add more honey if not sticky enough). Smoosh until flat into a 13 x 9 pan. Let sit for 15 to 20min then cut into twelve even bars. wrap each in platic wrap and store in fridge.
(protein of the bars depends on the amount in protein mix, but each bar usually contains 25g to 35g of protein
