No bruising, so it is not a tear. However it is sore to the touch and I can not flex it at all without sever pain. Walking is painful also. Stretching is out of the question. I an using a crutch at this time.
Need suggestions on rehab.

Also should I discontinue the a-50?

Don't sprint. I don't know what to tell you. Healing will take time. Let it heal on it's own and slowly ease it back into functional use.

Are you taking part in a sport that requires sprinting?

If not, take as much time off running as possible.....

bro the first thing you need to do is stay off it for 24 hours and use no heat. Second ice it for 30 minutes every hour, all day, tomorrow wake up and ice for 30min, then add a heating pad for 20, repeat this atleast 8 times in the day, next if you have some dmso, apply it to your calf, then wait about 30min and apply heat, then ice.....do this for about 5 days straight, I suffered a mild sprain in my knee, was out for 5 days, luckily 3 of those was not training days, I hear a severe sprain or strain can take up to 6 to 8 weeks to heal, take plenty of ibuprofein for the pain.....good luck.

just give it time. it will probably take about 7-8 days to heal. just don't put more strain than is necessary on it. unlike the other members, i do recommend sprinting, but only with ample warm up ahead of time.
