Guys--

I've been doing alot of reading on the ABCDE diet and proposed variations and I've been getting curious about trying it while on a cycle. As most of you know, the original diet calls for two week bulking phases followed by two week cutting phases--the calorie cycling is pretty extreme, basicially a transition from overating(bodyweight x 12 + 1500 calories) to a pretty extremem cutting (bw x 12-500 calories). The major problem seems to be that the drastic calorie reduction in the cutting phase slows down the metabolism so that when the next bulking phase begins, excess bodyfat is added.

I've been thinking of trying a variant on this program while using anabolic supplementation. Basicially, I see two options: using fast acting orals and injectables for each phase, i.e. dbol for the bulk and winny for the cut phase, or, the better option in my opinion, use AAS that can be effective in cutting and bulking cycles. For me, the ideal would likely be 400mg Eq a week, and 100mg prop EOD.

In terms of the calories, I think that better and more keepable gains without excess bf might be achieved by making the transition more moderate. I'm thinking of trying the diet with two week bulking phases and three week cutting phases. For the bulking phase, I would start by calculating maintainance calories and adding 500 for the first week; for the second week I would up it 750.

Now, for the cutting cycle, it seems to me that a sudden drastic caloric reduction would be an easy way to quickly lose all the gains from the bulk stage. So for the first week of cutting, I'd take maintainance calories, add some low-intensity cardio 3-4 times a week and probably eat somewhere in the area of maintainance -200. Then, the second week would be the big fat loss week--maintaiance calories minus 500-750, with carbs cut pretty drastically, very possibly throwing in Clen, since for one week, clen seems good at preserving lbm while burning fat. For the third week, I'd raise the calories--probably back to maintainance -300-400. The increase should hopefully keep the metabolism going at its original rate. Low dosages of t3 might be of use here too, to ensure a little more fat loss and a speedy metabolism during the last week of cutting.

That way, when you go back to the moderate caloric increase of the bulk phase, your metabolism is still going nicely, so excess fat isn't likely to be added. It's possible that the use of the t3 for the prior week could suppress the thyroid making it easier to add fat during the first week of bulking. But since the caloric increase is mild and if you keep the calories clean, I think you might be able to add LBM while keeping added bf minimal.

The EQ/Prop should be able to faciliate both the bulking and cutting phases.

I'm thinking of trying this for 10 weeks over the summer. I apologize for the length of the post, as I'm mostly thinking aloud at this point. Anybody with any experience with ABCDE and any other inputs or opinions would be much appreciated.
