Got a question for the medical gurus here. I was out doing a little hitting practice w/o the helmet and I took a forearm to the eye. And I now have this nice cut on my eye lid and upper eyebrow. you know where you eye lid goes when you eye is open. I am pretty sure they don't do stiches there, but goodness looks like I went 3 rounds boxing and lost. Any way to close them up?? I had a nice Q-tip stuck to them to get the bleeding to stop but they are still wide open. They look just like when a boxer get opened up. I got full gear practice tomorrow and I know the sweat is going to kill me. Any one know how to close these besides stiches???

Had one recently and used Butterfly stitches. Which are just like butterfly shaped bandaids you get at CVS. They work better than nothing.

That would work on the forehead or something, but this is my eyelid and inside my eyelid. No way a band-aid can go there. To let you know, one of the cuts when my eye is closed I can still see light. The other is when I shut my eye it is inside where the eyelid goes into.

Go see a medical professional. You may end up with a deformation due to scar tissue and improper healing.

Well I went to the ER and guess what. They can't stich the eyelid. The stiches would rub the eye itself. All they said they could do would be tape the wound close, then tape the eye shut. The one above the eyelid they took care of no problem. They said the one on the eye lid can heal on its own. It is not a complete tear where part is hanging, it is in the center of the eye lid and extends both ways. They told me everyday after my normal activities, place the band aid over the eye and tape it shut for the night. Looks like at night time, they will call me 1 eye.
