Author | Topic: Do Clomid & Nolvadex Compete For Receptors?

I've started my post cycle clomid, and I'm wondering if nolvadex will hurt or help. I know they both attach to estrogen receptors, so is it possible that nolvadex will compete with clomid in the hypothalamus reducing it's LH increasing properties? I took Nolvadex throughout my cycle, (cutting cycle, 10mg EOD.) so should I continue with it or stop? Today is my first day of clomid, doing the 300mg the first day, 100mg there after and so on. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Great question. I looked up clomid in the PDR, and it says it has both estrogenic and anti-estrogenic properties. It also lists gyno as a potential side effect in males, but it could be a really small percentage without a real cause and effect relationship. Basically, I'm saying that I have no friggin' idea as to the answer to your question. However, I'm hoping that someone can tell us something. ![]() ![]() ![]()

I should probably add that I'm not concerned with gyno at this point. If I was going to get it, I would have by now. I am concerned with getting my natrual test level as high as possible. So, will continuing nolvadex help or hurt this process? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Clomid is an estrogen receptor antagonist. This means it works by filling an estrogen receptor without activating it. The only way to interfere with this behavior is to be an estrogen receptor agonist or fill the receptor and activate it. It is my understanding that nolvadex is an antagonist as well. If so, no problem. Anyone else? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

No there is no problem. Even if they did compete (which they don't) you would be better off no matter what. ------------------ Great Information on Injections and Syringes ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Clomid has selective binding affinities to ER in the hypothalamus, but Nolvadex is non-selective. -Stew ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

CLOMID DOES THE SAME THING AS HCG AND IT BINDS ESTROGEN RECEPTORS-NOLVADEX JUST PLAIN SUCKS-WOULDN'T USE IT IF I GOT IT FOR FREE. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Clomid does NOT do the same thing as HCG.Clomid blocks estrogen's signal from the hypothalamus & pituitary, causing them to produce their signified hormones and re-initializing the T production process.HCG "mimics"leutenizing hormone in the testes, causing them to produce testosterone. It does nothing to get the hypothalamus or pituitary back in line.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
