Hey bro, I got a tatto last year (shoulder also), and worked out the next day. It was chest day. When I got home and took my shirt off, there was ink on it where my tat is, sooo ... if I were you I would stay away from doing exercises that force you to smash your flesh up against the bench, etc. it might cause the healing flesh to stick to your clothing and might mess it up. At least for a day or so, until it scabs over real good. That's just my opinion.

I had the same deal a month or so ago. Tattoos on both shoulders. Don't wear a shirt when you lift and keep non-scented lotion all over your tat. You don't want the thing scabbing up too bad so keep it really moist with lotion. Wear loose shirts as well. ------------------ | ||

As mentioned above...make sure you use lotion* on it..to keep it moist and keep it germ free...which brings me to my point....MAKE SURE YOU SHOWER AFTERWARDS. You dont want to get it infected. you gotta watch out for that. Remember your tattoo is just like a masive open wound make sure you Dont hit or bump it when it starts scabing. I have had 2 tattoos reworked due to pigment being pulled out of the tattoo when it was healing (both times i hit it on the corner of something at work) *make sure you use the lotion recomended by your tattooist. I dont know what you guys use over there...but we have bepanthen b5 over here (its for breast feeeding mothers i think) but it works a charm and i recomend it if you can find it. |
