I just had my surgery about a week ago. I still have a little swelling. The swelling makes it look like I still have gyno. I'm just curious to know how long it took for the swelling to go down, and if they used liposuction, or went in by the nipple and cut out the gland.

Actually insurance paid every dime of my surgery. It depends on what you tell the doc as to whether they will pay.

BUMP for help with my original post.

Don't worry about the swelling. It is a combination of inflamation and a buid up of fluid. Any surgery is traumatising to the body and it needs to go through its own process of healing.
When I had the surgery I also had swelling and thought the op. was unseccesful. When I went to the doc again he insrted a needle in the cut about 1/2 to 1 inch in and drew out all the liquid. He had to do this a number of times on each side, this actual left the nipple slightly depressed but this soon corrected itself.
In more server cases they do insert a "drain" which is basically a straw attached to a compressed container that effectively acts as a vacum and removes any further fluid build up. This is normaly worn for about a week and is easily concealable.

In short don't worry, give your doc a call and arrange for a consultation.

Thanks for the info Purple. Did they use lipo on you, or cut it out?

They cut it out. It was very neat, they cut around the underside of each nipple - halfmoon size. The one side was worse than the other so the scar on the left is slightly visable where the had to leave the natural contour of the nipple, but it is not immediatley noticeable at all.

Damn, they used liposuction on me. I think the way you had it done is more effective. It's too early to tell now, but I just hope he was able to get the gland out also with the lipo.

Sounds like it. But before you go and have surgery, make sure it is not reversible using drugs like nolvadex etc.
