Hey bro's, first off I want to let you know I've been reading this board for months, and know there have been similar posts, but I want a personalized response.

I, up until recently have been very atheltically involved in and out of school along with recreational body building. But since a separated shoulder in high school wrestling, I have had a real hard time getting back into the gym. I'm 19 years old, 5"10 approximatly 195lbs, and up until recently have had a very solid pysique, but this shoulder thing has just been killing me.

I'm wondering what a first cycle would be that might help with the tendons in my shoulder and help me get back into the hardcore a few pounds heavier. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for the long post

Gopher

Man, that sucks about the shoulder injury. By the way, I am very jealous of your chest/waist differential. 49"/35" Damn! You must have fun looking for suits that fit, lol.

As far as something to help the tendons regrow, I don't know for sure. I seem to recall reading on medline about how Winstrol helps with connective tissue synthesis, maybe do some research into that. Also, deca is known to help joints feel better, maybe it's the same for tendons. I for sure would be popping glucosamine/chondroitin if I had a similar injury. It is pretty cheap and can be found anywhere (and ordered from the net).

Other than that, I can only think time will help. Btw, what does your doctor say? If you have not seen a specialist, try to find a good orthopedic doctor, they usually deal with sports related injuries, and could help steer you in the right direction as far as rehab goes.

Let us know what you eventually find out/do as far as rehab goes. Who knows, you might be able to help others with similar problems.

hth

That shoulders always been a bitch, before dislocating it I had tendonitis in the rotator cuff a few times, and did the whole rehab game 3 times now. As far as the orthapedist goes, I've seen a couple. In my most recent visit I was told that based on physical examination a surgery wouldn't be recommended, but based on my history it would... problem... recovery time for that would be a full year. I missed out on wrestling my freshman year in college, if I can't rehab and catch up on lost strength for sophomore year, I'm not comming back as a junior.

Any information on a first cycle would be much appreciated.

Thnx

I have a question for you bro, .. is your shoulder strong enough to successfully stimulate your muscles? I imagine that you have a hard time lifting any substantial weight in any upperbody exercise.

You may want to concentrate on rebuilding your tendons and strength in that one shoulder so that you have a balance in strength. If not, you will usually favor your good shoulder in all exercises which will be bad if you're on the gear.

Well, the way it's been explained to me, I am supposedly strong enough to do exercises under 90 degrees... I mean the first dislocation since high school came when I was doing behind the neck presses, but I figure, I can do bi's pretty effectivley, bench, lat pulldowns if I come in the front, lateral raises and waht not, probably not that much to hit my shoulders immediatly... but legs and abs won't be really restricted.

I'm not extreemly worried right now, cause my traps and delts are still in pretty descent form.

I'm definatly not trying to do anything stupid and fuck myself up worse, but I can't take this shit of going from jock to jerk off. I gotta get back in the gym and on the mat.
