When I first started working out I didn't know jack about lifting.. I had a workout partner who I lifted with and at the time I thought he was fairly large at 170lbs and 16" arms.. That shows you how much I knew about working out. He was very dedicated to the gym, and so was I.. but eventually his "drive" faded and he started slacking off. I kept working out.. eventually passing him in size and strength. He re-joined the gym later on in the year and I confided in him I was going to do a cycle of steroids, so he decided he would to.. Well.. that was about 8 months ago I guess. Saw him today for the first time in a long time at the gym because he had another slack off after his cycle.. Guess what his stats are now? Around.... 165lbs 15.5" arms. =) I watched him rep 205lbs 3 times. I couldn't resist so I put 225 on it and asked him to spot me while I got an easy 18 reps and put the bar down. Im not bragging.. just wanted the newbies to realize, drugs are not a substitute for hardwork, consistency, and diet. If my friend would've had these 3 things in order, we would be the same size as me now. But because he doesn't have that drive to suceed, I have surpassed him greatly, simple because I am consistent and work hard. soo..... get whatever you can out of the story.. hopefully you'll see my point. | ||

That story is similar to mine. Long before I ever even knew of AS, me and my buddy would work out regularly. We started lifting around the same weight, but as time when on, I gradually pulled ahead of him. Why? Because I noticed when we lifted, he shaved reps off his sets by not doing past-failure reps, or exerting full effort. He would sometimes put on lower weight, if he didn't "feel good" that day. I think he still lifts half-assed to this day. I thought he'd learn his lesson on it just by looking at me, then looking at himself. |
