There is a chemical, "Naranginen" which is naturally occurring in Grapefruit juice. It has been written in Pharmaceutical literature that is increases the half-life of certain drugs. The two I remember reading about were EPHEDRINE and some estrogen like compounds. 1) DOES ANYBODY KNOW ANYMORE ABOUT THIS COMPOUNDS INTERACTION with the ECA STACK??? 2) If it has an effect on estrogen like compounds, does anyone know what type of action it has on AS in the body. May be of interest to take in conjunction with ORALS??? ANY OF YOU GURUS HAVE SOME IDEAS/KNOWLEDGE TO SHARE? I decided to post a new topic since we were starting to stray from the original Post: posted March 31, 2001 04:01 PM Staff Use Only: IP: Logged -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [QUOTE]Originally posted by Jback: [B]have never heard of the grapefruit juice-where did you get that info from? (JOCKO7) To be honest, I first read about it in "The Supplement Review" (simple regular grapefruit juice) If you read any pharmaceutical literature, there are always contraindications, warnings, notices, etc... that talk about Grapefruits effects on various compounds because of the "naranginen" There are magazine artiles mentioning it every once in awhile. This naturally occurring substance does have influences on the half-life of not only ephedrine, but hormones as well. ( If I remember correctly, it was estrogen or chemical compounds similar to estrogen --SOMETHING THAT MAY BE OF "INDIRECT INTEREST" TO BODYBUILDERS. Please note - I am a novice seeking to always improve my knowledge on performance enhancement. Never used, but trying to learn as much as I can. I think I'll post a new topic on the subject since we're starting to stray a little. ![]() ![]() ![]()

I can only tell you what I have been told from a number of guys at the gym. They said that Grapefruit Juice as well as high (and I mean extremely high) concentrations of Vitamin C cleanses the receptor sites that ephedrine clings too. Therefore, after awhile of using ephedrine and you became immune to its effects take some time off with GrapeFruit juice and vitamin C and return to it. It should hit you full strength again. Although I have no scientific evidence to validate these claims try this little experiment -- take your normal dose of just ephedrine (the amount that with give you a rush) and wash it down with 1L of Grapefruit Juice. I did it and found I could take 9 tabs before I began to feel any effect again -- but be careful. If you found out anything else post it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Grapefruit juice destroys the livers enzyme that counteracts ephedrine and caffeine. Therefore it increases ECA's halflife. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I read about this a long time ago (7-8 years) and proceeded to take my ECA stack with unsweetened white grapefriut juice. From what I recall by taking it together you increase the half-life and in turn delay the time it takes your body to get "used to" a dose and require larger and larger amounts of ECA. I definatly noticed a difference in the effect of my stack when I took it with the juice - more so the way I felt than the fat burning effect...Eating grapefruit doesn't work unless you eat the bitter "skin" between the sections since that is where the narganine is found. Hope this helps! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I read a post couple months ago that said that grapefruit juice make dbol 30% more effective, because it counteracts the liver enzyme that breaks it down ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
