Here's my plan to try and rid acne. First off, I tan really easily because I have olive skin so I just ordered some trisolaren tanning pills and I'm going to take those and get REALLY REALLY dark in about a week. Since the sun clears up or at least covers up my moderate acne pretty well, I'm going to start my low 20mg dose accutane after I'm all tanned up and take it for about 80 days. That should be around mid june right when summer is officially starting and i'm hoping my skin will be damn near perfect. My only question is about the sun and if I will be able to still be in the sun at all to maintain my tan during the accutane? I know the accutane makes you burn fast but what about when you are alreasy dark with sun screen on? You guys think this will work? Fucken acne and hairloss are really bringing me down lately and I'm sick of this shit! I'm tired of bein a shiny greasball 10min after i shower. Also, about 2.5 months ago i was piss drunk and fell back directly on my head and where i hit, about a quarter size patch of hair fell out which hasn't grown back yet and I'm gettin worried as hell about that too. I don't need a permanent bald spot at 21! doc said it should grow back around the scar i now have but it would be 3-6 months. i hope he is right. damn that was really unrelated but i need to bitch right now.

Thats 11 weeks - not really long enough. >My only question is about the sun and if I will be able to still be in the sun at all to maintain my tan during the accutane? I know the accutane makes you burn fast but what about when you are alreasy dark with sun screen on? If you get "enough" sun for it to have ANY effect on the tan, that is TOO much to get while on Accutane. I mean - sure you can go in th sun maybe with like SPF 30 stuff, but you wont "get" any sun for your tan that way. Dude, if you do Accutane, FORGET about "getting" any sun for about 4 months - at least. Period. Accutane, taken correctly, is serious shit. Plus, the "low dose" attempt is not goping to be worth it. The short term - 11 weeks is also almost a waste. I was halted about 9 week into my first Accutane cycle. My acne came back like 2 years later.

Thanks for your opinion. So you think it would be a waste even for mild-moderate acne? What do you think is the minimum amount of time to be on accutane to get good results? 2 years sounds pretty good to me. The problem is that there is no definite alternative. Everyone swears by somethen different so it's all a guessing game. My oily skin is almost more of an annoyance than the acne itself. I'm tryin the b5 thing right now, hopefully it will help. |
