Okay well i am 16/male and i just signed up for a gym. I would like to know from experts what are the best machines to hit and what to do and how many sets of it for the best results. I want to mainly work on my upper body (abs, arms, chest). But i don't want to do any exercises that will affect my back or growth in any way and that's why i would like to get advice before i go and hurt myself. -Thanks a lot.

Oh man, starting at the beginning...congrats! I suggest reading FLEX magazine or the like to learn diet, lifting techniques, etc. For MACHINES, I like the following: Chest: flyes, chest press, smith machine ...Email me if you need more help than that. Go light with high reps for the first month to get your muscles and body in shape for heavier weights. Hit creatine, protein, glutamine and some vitamins. Fuck it, just Email me and I'll send you all the info you'll need. ------------------

You can't just work arms, abs, and chest. The beach workout. You won't get anywhere doing this nor will you get any respect. You must work everything. Legs, back, chest, arms, shoulders, abs. The body grows as a whole. Stear clear of machines and stick with free weights compound movements. Squats, deadlifts, bench press, shoulder press, barbell curls, barbell row. If you learn proper form you won't hurt yourself. Read muscle and fitness and flex. They are great for beginers. Learn the basic exercises first and work all your muscle. The most important factor in success in the gym is your diet so learn all you can baout good diet. Keep it simple at first. |
