Would a person have to worry about a transmitter on a domestic package delievered via priority mail into his mailbox? Or is this only a concern when delievered to one's door and or internationally mailed? Thanks    | ||

I'm sorry. I forgot to introduce myself. I am Hound Dog. I am new to this board but have heard alot of good things about it. I am also a member at other boards including pay sites (You know which one I mean) so I understand the rules and the flow of a board. There is alot of knowledge here and I look forward to learning with you guys. I am about to start my 2nd cycle but I have been studying for a year and working out for three. A trasmitter like spy tracking? I don't think you have to worry unless you are being set up and then transmitter or not you have to worry. If you trust your source, then everything should be cool. Think about it, domestically there are probably over 100 million packages sent ed.  | ||

It is possible it could be secreted in a domestic parcel sent via USPS, but is highly unlikely. I know these devices are used primarily when suspicious shipments are inspected by UPS/Fedex/DHL and other private carriers. Occasionally they (covert transmitters) will be used by law enforcement for intercepted overseas shipments which they (feds of local cops) plan on delivering in a "controlled manner" to the intended addressee. If you are expecting a shipment from your source, he has told you it will be shipped express and should arrive by noon and it is 6:00 PM and hasn't yet arrived, I would consider waiting a few days to open the package. Express shipment whether via UPS, FedEx or good old USPS are your best route since they offer a confirmed delivery time. If the cops had intercepted your package they wouldn't have time to apply for a search and seizure, serve it on the package, then apply for a another warrant for the house it is to be delivered to, then assemble a surveillance unit. You see all this takes a lot of time. Secondly, the search and seizure warrant will have probable cause in its affidavit which is solely based on the contents of the intercepted box (assuming you haven't been the neighborhood asshole and you have a criminal record for drugs.) If they deliver, you refuse to accept, What do they have? zero. Essentially it would be necessary for you to accept the package and open it, then the service of the warrant would most likely take place and you would probably be in some trouble, assuming you have more evidence of AS or other illicit contraband in the residence. These types of warrants are "anticipatory in nature," the cops are being "pre-authorized" by a judge who signed the warrant to enter the residence based on the possibility of their target accepting and then opening the box. If you simply refuse to accept, they have nothing. Let this serve as today's lesson. Good luck | ||
