From now on if you are caught with small quantities of Cannabis, all that happens is they confiscate it and take your name. No prosecution, not even a formal caution. The Metropolitan Police say they are adopting this policy to enable to free up resources to fight hard drugs such as Crack and Heroin. Last year the same police authority recommended that Ectasy was downgraded to a Class B drug. In British Law, Anabolic Steroids are Class C drugs, wheras Cannabis is Class B.
