![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Was reading the current issue of testosterone.net and came across this (since I know some guys are using Penta Pro from ptoteinfactory.com and it contains soy among other proteins) "In fact, I just read a paper on soy the other day which said that eating 100 grams of soy protein was the estrogenic equivalent of taking a birth-control pill! Makes you want to pass on the tofu, doesn't it?" No what the hell! There's a link to the Bad Protein Report on there too. It's about 1/10th down on the page. I've heard some conflicting information on soy, and some say that it can increase estrogen levels in the body. Some say that since phyto-estrogens are a "weak" estrogen they'll bind to the estrogen receptor cites not allowing the estrogen in your body from doing so- which would be a good thing. I'm not throwing away my Penta Pro yet, I haven't grown any bitch titties or anything of the like. Just wanna give you guys a heads up- and see if any of you all know some more info. PEACE! I'm going to email the dudes at proteinfactory and see what they gotta say about it. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() the two main phyto-estrogens in soy are far from weak. I would not throw away your protein but i do try to stay away from soy- that shit is everywhere. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have been told by many that soy milk is okay but to stay away from the bean curd due to its estrogen. Also, soy bean curd has high levels of uric acid that just add to the load on your body. You've got to constantly sweat it out. I can't show you any scientific references for this, just the talk that has been circulated around family and friends. AY IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() The two main phytoestrogens in soy are genistein and daidzein. In comparison to estradiol, they are weak estrogens. I would not worry about these estrogens, esp. since there are many studies showing positive benefits from their consumption. Also, daidzein has been shown to increase nitrogen retention in one study. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Yeah I think it's a load of horseshit. If the phytoestrogens bind to our estrogen receptor sites- this prevents free estrogen from binding. This could descrease the amount of estrogen in a male body. Plant hormones and animal hormones are quite different. Besides, people have been eating soy for a long ass time- haven't heard any news about some dude sprouting some titties because of it. IP: Logged |
