This is in regards to my earlier post about how the mailman (who looked like that long haired chinese torture guy from Lethal Weapon) comes to my door to ask me to sign for a waived sig package. Anyway here is what has developed so far. I want to know what you bros think. I just got back from the PO and told the guy at the desk "a package came but my girl refused it because the name was wrong" He went in the back and said "Come back in 20 minutes the carrier should be back by then." I go back in 10 minutes and the guy sees me and calls me over to the desk. He's got the package. He says "who's Shawn, if you are Steve?" I said the sender must have just misread my bad handwriting. Then he said "I don't know why the carrier asked for a sig, it was waived." I saw the package and the sig was waived. So I show him ID, tell him the name was probably screwed from handwriting, and show him my checkbook to verify the addy. Then he gives me the package AND STILL ASKS ME TO SIGN FOR IT. I said "but it's waived." He said "As long as you're here you may as well sign." I hesitated for a minute and said "I'll be back tomorrow becuase I want to make sure I know no one is playing a joke on me" He said "fine but it goes back to sender in 5 days though."
But this is really weird. But what I don't know is if I alerted them to it when I went there and refused to sign. He just stared at me and I held the pen in hand for the longest time and finally said "I gotta check who this is from first." So they may be opening it and checking it right now. Let me know what you think bros. If it makes it back to him then great. If not, then they know.

Just let it go back and have him mail it again .... Dont go back; from what you said, you acted awfully suspicious.....better safe than sorry and besides like you said, is it really worth $200......... just my opinion IP: Logged |

Yeah, sounds pretty messed up. I had a package come for me on sunday once and my mom signed for it but nothing came of it. i thought that was wierd till i read your problem. can you send someone else in to sign for it? I don't know, i might have just signed for it and seen what happend. Is it more then personal use? IP: Logged |

The thing was, when I first went to the guy at the PO, I asked if I could just leave a signed note outside my addy. UPS lets you do this. He said "no, especially since your reg carrier is cranky" What tha fuck is this!!! Just too suspicious. And the thing is this is a domestic source. This shouldn't have ever happened unless there's a rat somewhere or it was a random x ray. I know I may have screwed it up more, but what could I do - sit there bitchin and say "Why do I have to sign?" Now that looks suspicious. So I thought of the best excuse and got the fuck out. See, the thing is this is really fuckin up my cycle. That's why I spent the extra 15 and had it expressed. So I thought of these things go back every day and hope to get a different guy and give him a different story like "My friends play jokes on me. Or tell him the name is false cuz I'm embarassed about ordering pornos. Or tell him just GIVE ME THE FUCKIN PACKAGE WITHOUT SIGNING OR I WILL RIP YOUR FUCKING THROAT OUTTTTTTTTT......... calm down..10. 9. 8. ...... man these fuckin disgrunted 9-5 fucks are playing with the wrong mofo. There was no problem. But when you didn't take it at the PO that may of changed.He just asked you to sign because he asked for the id and stuff. I would say stay away now though as unless the guy is strange he's gonna ask someone else and they will probably look at it and then who knows. IP: Logged |

I think you're probably too paranoid but on the other hand there is no reason here to take any chances, since as you say they can send it back to your source and he can resend. You have nothing to lose by letting them return to sender. I think postal people are just idiots, and that they try to get signatures out of habit. My own UPS guy is the same way. He says stupid shit like "as long as you're here you may as well sign". I've tested him on legal packages just to find out his habits. I have an idea for signing by the way. If they ask for a sig, and you feel you have no choice, then just write "refused" on the sig line in messy handwriting. The delivery people usually don't look closely, but in court the prosecution would have a hell of a hard time trying to explain it. IP: Logged |

ha ha ha go postal bro thats funny shit. but really if i were you i would go there with confidence as if you are doing nothing wrong. tell him its your roomate's and he is out of town, also tell him that you dont need to sign shit cuz it says "sig waived" emphasize that to him!!! make a sceen if you need to. its your shit bro, fuck with him more than he fucks with you. by the way just to let you and all the other bros in this board know MY AUNT WORKS FOR THE POSTAL, SHE TOLD ME FIRST HAND THAT IF A PACKAGE IS SENT FROM THE STATES YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. NO ONE CAN OPEN YOUR PACKAGES (ITS IN YOUR RIGHTS) HOWEVER IF IT IS COMING FROM OUTSIDE THE U.S. THATS A DIFFERENT STORY. so what im trying to tell you is that if you got it from someone in u.s. you can sign it if you want they dont have shit on you. if its outside the u.s. i would make a sceen and say you got expired shit in there and you need to give it to your roomate asap. swol IP: Logged |

Christ, why didn't you just sign or stay home? Anytime you pick up something from the post office they're going to ask you to sign. Hide out from your mailman when he comes to deliver your sig. waived expected package. They should leave the fucker if it is sig. waived. But if you live in a particular high crime or theft rate area they won't. My girlfrind's father is a mailman and a lot of discretion is given to the carrier. Yeah it's true you may not have to sign but how many law-abiding citizens receiving a package are go to make an issue out of it? It's not at all like getting pulled over and refusing to let "Johnny-fucking-rights abusing Law" search your car. Matter of fact I wouldn't have anything else sent to that address...and I wouldn't show my paranoid mug up at the p.o.(for you small town fucks). ------------------ IP: Logged |

yea E2 is right, they asked me for a sig i said it was waived and took the package(back before my source got busted)  fuck them, its not like your stealing and refusing to sign has to be a right somewhere in the constitution (not a gov. major)besides even if you don't want to go get it, im sure someone on this board has a couple bottles of test laying around...especially those who head south of the boarder  [This message has been edited by Juicer56 (edited April 26, 2000).] IP: Logged |

I do what Hominid mentioned. Sometimes you get a note to go to the Post Office to pick up your package, I either get someone else to go (I do not tell them what is in the package) and if they sign, they sign, it has got nothing to do with you (different name) and your story if busted is you opened them up and all these tablets and shit where in there, so you returned it to the sender. Another thing, is if you sign, you can put an X, when the dude says what the f*ck is that, you tell him you are illiterate, and that he better not be discriminating you. I'm dealing with similar shit right now. My package was sent to me at an address that I have never had any trouble using before and for some reason It was refused and sent back. Now I have about $200 dollars floating around the country somewhere and I can't get to it. SON OF BITCH!!! that pisses me off.....If theres anything I can do about it let me know bro's, I'm just figuring I'm fucked right about now. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Dude First, I would forget about that package, second if the waive box is signed it is very clear no fucking signature is required and you must be firm with these cunts, I would tell the postal cunt that there is not signature reqiured so give me my fucking package and move out. at that point if he gives you a hard time slam the door and have a beer and forget about it. i say just go get the damn thing, bring it home open it and then tape it back shut and right "return to sender on it" leave the bastard by your door for a week or until you start your cycle. If they do come and ask about it just say I opened it and it wasnt anything i had ordered and so i retaped it and was going to send it back to the sender. That will hold up in court if your lawyer is court appointed or not. IP: Logged |
