Can Hepatitus (any kind) live in steroids? If so how long? I recently read that it is 100X more infectious than HIV. Anyone out there have it or come close to having it? Rodden-The-Curious IP: Logged |

There are different types of Hepatitis. I will assume you are talking about HepC. It is a virus that destroys your liver. You get it a few different ways and much is still not 100% sure but blood is what carries it. Using a pin that someone infected uses is the surest way to get it. As far as it being in gear, The most possible thing would be if an infected person put their used pin into a multi use vial the virus could survive in the vial and go into other pins entering the vial. This is a big problem with tatooos as the artist sometimes changes the pins but not the paint, so the paint could of been previously infected. HepC is easier to get than HIV as it is able to live for a longer period of time out in the open. It does not die when exposed to oxygen like HIV. They are now saying that it is not sexually transmited either(unless theres blood). The main way it's spread is dirty needles but also it can be spread from straws by people snorting drugs through them. If you get HepC it may never cause you any problems but it could also kill you. I know about it as somebody close to me has it. It's a good idea to be checked when you have blood work done as if you do have it you must change your habits accordingly. If you don't use other peoples pins or don't use IV drugs at all, or have never had blood transfusions then it is highly unlikely that you have it. Hope this helped. IP: Logged |

Wash your hands after going to the bathroom. Wash your hands after changing baby too. Cause you don't want to get hepatitus. And you don't want hepatitus to get you. Nothing like a publc service announcement played over and over to an impressionable young mind. IP: Logged |
