Going to Mexico in a couple of weeks (Puerto Vallarta) was wondering best way to pack,wrap,ship a package. Should I send smaller packages to different addresses? Should I just try to take it on the plane with me? IP: Logged |

Could someone give some insight on this topic. I am headed off to Thailand this summer and plan to bring some serious shit back. Would sending be safer then carrying?? I realize that packages from overseas are high scrutinized in customs. How would I hide a bunch of gear on the plane back?? IP: Logged |

a little advice to both of you guys. Send it to yourself. At least if you get caught you can say it was never yours and write someone else's name on the package or just re-write your own name. Don't carry it on the plane! try using coffee grinds, and egg cartons or bubble wrap. Always works for me. IP: Logged |

First I have brought stuff home from Mexico many times! I prefer walking across the border but it doesn't sound like that will help you. If I mail things I always buy tourist type items also. I can't tell you how many of those damn mexican blankets I have. Fill your box with tourist crapola and away you go. Unless something has changed in the last 2 years FedEx and UPS don't x-ray packages as a regular practice and I will always ship with one of these two companies. As for the Thailand question goes. You couldn't pay me enough to try to pack home from Thailand! It's a sure way to be answering lots of questions. I have a friend that packs his stuff from Thailand to Japan or China and then ships his stuff home from there. IP: Logged |

take it on the plane...if you dont look like a bodybuilder fine, if you so where loose clothing and pack lite, get behind someone with alot of bags and walk on through..works for me... IP: Logged |

from personal experience..ALWAYS SEND EXPRESS!!! I've lost a couple of packages regular adn they take forever, but never any problems with express. It's well worth the extra bucks. mailing it is no prob, there are a couple of ways. Take a book, cut out an area of the book on the inside through the pages, put the vial(s)in that area, close up the book , get it shrink wrapped, and u're set. if u wanna drive it back over, open up your speaker slots and stick it behind your speakers, never fails IP: Logged |

I was thinking maybe get some jugs of weight gainer or protein powder and open, put the gear in ziplocks and put ziplocks inside the powder, then reseal...if they x-ray, I don't know if this would work, but then neither would the book idea...if anyone asks, just say that it was such a good price that you couldn't pass it up and it was worth it to send it home...think it would work.
