Help me out bro's - this is some depressing shit!!! I haven't missed a workout in 5 months, been eating right, lifting hard and practically living for bodybuilding. I have made some of the best gains of my life recently and everyone is telling me that I am looking great! My luck had to change!!! About this time last week I felt myself coming down with something - tight chest, cough, headaches... My question is - How much of a setback will this prove to be if I can recover fully to be back in the gym in a couple of days time, and should I go all out once I am better or take it easy for a while? Bro, just my oppinion, but i would go back to the gym and hit it as hard as your body will let you. That is what i have always done after being sick. Just watch your weight and eat like hell so you don't lose too much weight. I think you'll be ok, just get back in the gym as soon as possible and bust your ass some more!! IP: Logged |

Take time to let your body heal and take it easy for a couple of weeks once you're in the gym again. You risk losing more if you start back by going all out. IP: Logged |

i'm with the truth on this one... If you feel that your sick, wait until your body is fully repaired (or very close to it) before hitting the gym. Your body needs to focus all it's energy on fighting whatever the hell is attacking you (the last thing on it's mind is repairing your shredded muscles). Also, if you go back to the gym to early you risk a full fledged relapse, which might cost you another week or two. I'll hit the gym when I'm not sure if I'm getting sick, but once I feel shitty I don't bother. IP: Logged |

Bro, wait until your better before you go back to the gym. I hate it when people come to the gym all sick and hacking shit up. No one else wants to be sick. IP: Logged |

Don't worry about it bro. Wait until your body is feeling normal, and hit it hard. Your body is working hard enough trying to fight off some shit, don't need added stress from workouts. I know it sucks being away from the gym- shit, I love being at the gym. Consider this some good time off, everyone needs a little time off and rest up. THEN HIT IT HARD! BUILD UP YOUR INTESNITY! HEAL UP! IP: Logged |

Signs of overtraining: Tiredness Irritability Trouble sleeping Loss of Appetite Joint Aches Thick Head and Nausea Not being in a positive frame of mind Once you hit the recuperation wall, the only cure is to stay out of the gym completely until the feeling of hunger returns. If your ignoring the signs of overtraining, your workouts will become counterproductive. You'll lose size and strength, and you'll feel lousy too. Think smart and recuperate to accumulate. -as written by Dorian Yates in "Portrait of Dorian Yates, A Warriors Story". IP: Logged |

get some rest and hit it when you feel your strength coming back. If you work out feeling like shit, you won't pump it as hard. Recover and attack. ghans IP: Logged |

SLEEP-REST-EAT UNTIL YOU ARE FULLY RECOVERED- GUESS WHAT- YOU WILL STILL GROW- THE OTHERS ARE RIGHT BECAUSE OF YOUR ANABOLIC STATE YOU MAY BE PUSHING YOURSELF TOO HARD WHICH MAY HAVE BEEN A IMMUNOSUPPRESIVE FACTOR WHICH PLAYED A PART IN YOUR ILLNESS. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Thanks for the great advice bro's - don't worry, I don't have AIDS! My doc said it is probably a flu-like virus going around. I got on the scale this morning and I haven't lost any weight as I have been doing my best to still eat right. I am going to rest up until I am much better, before I hit the gym again - but damn I swear I hear that squat rack calling my name!!! IP: Logged |
