I just had my shoulder checked out and the doc told me to come back for an MRI. The x-rays showed nothing!!! He said that is bad news. Most likely it will be a rotator cuff problem. For now he prescribed Naproxen. Has anyone used this stuff. Are there any side or any thing I shouldn't mix with it??? Like ECA or creatine?? IP: Logged |

Why didn't you ask your Doc when he prescribed it to you? Naproxen is an anti-inflmatory. IP: Logged |

i have used naproxen also known as naprocin, lots of times. been through the whole rotator cuff problems, and was about to the point of getting cortisone injections in the joint! don't want this. this is in no way something that will help you work out, it will keep you from hurting your shoulder worse and give you a better chance of healing. it keeps the inflamation down, basically a concentraited dose of alieve. Ok Naproxen (Naprosyn) is a NSAID. A Non-steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drug. If you are lifting while using this I would not recommend it. NSAIDS (aspiring, ibuprofen, naproxen, etc) typically mask the pain. They do not "cure" it. You are going to aggravate your injury if you continue going hardcore. I would say heal up first and make sure you are 100%. Platinum IP: Logged |

I'm sure, or at least I hope, your doctor told you that some people are allergic to it, and if you break out in hives, your face swells, or have any other type of allergic reation to it to discontinue use. It can also cause stomach bleeding. I use it all the time though, never had any problems with it. I have the big 500mg and I use Aleve, naproxen sodium. I take two Aleve a day to help with pain mostly, toothpain, headaches, and for my hand which just got mauled by a dog. (I'm still really pissed off about that!!) They work great. I have to take a shitload of ibufrofen to even come close to what the Aleve does for me. (No, I'm not getting paid to say that!!!) Slim IP: Logged |

Naproxen sodium is a presciption stregth aleve. It does cause GI upset and GI bleed usually in the elderly or long term users. When you see your Doc again ask him for a sample of Celebrex. IP: Logged |
