Words of wisdom....keep a good journal on everything that you do. I've been really busy lately (lazy) and haven't really totaled up my food intake like I should. I did write everything down...thank goodness, but tonight I finally made the effort to see what I've been doing. I almost fell out of my chair. I thought, as many do, that I was eating plenty. In the real world, more like a slim 1500 to 1600 cals a day with a whooping 120 grms of protien. NOT ENOUGH ! I have made decent gains since I've been back. ABout 15 lbs with a very mild cycle. The moral of this story is this: If you don't write it down, you don't know. Here's my typical food intake lately. ALl of you pups that think you're eating like a horse, compare.

Brkfst: 1/2 cup oatmeal, prot, shake
Snack: 1/2 MetRx shake
Lunch: Turkey brst, yogurt, cott cheese
Snack: 1/2 Met RX
Afternnon: 1 chick brst, b. potatoe
DInner: I flounder steak, brown rice, bread
Post work out: GNC Pro shake, yogurt

Have fun

Beast, check your math--your number is way too high. Mine is 3600cals at 240lbs, 72 inches and 32 yrs old.

Men is: 66+(6.22*weight)+(12.7*height)-(6.8*age)=X, X*1.6=BMR (1.6 is the activity level of the avg. BB)

The only way to positively identify your BMR is by eating everything you normally would for a week, not bulking , not cutting..just eating. Log it all down, and count it up. I your bodyweight remains the same by the end of a one full week period then thats your BMR...plain and simple. Equations contain many flaws due to the fact that people burn and utilize food differently. So what my work by equation for Joe Shmoe..wont work for his ectomorphic brother.
Later,
WCP

Hey guys,

This formula didn't come to me in a dream you know-I've used it for every athelete I've ever trained. Trust me, it is as accurate as you're going to get. I also find it to be a VERY simple equation-no harder than 8th grade level math.
Doing the week long thing has possibilities-in a perfect world, however, what if you eat out, what if you nibble here and there, how about false label claims(very common), lose your appetite or can't maintain the exact weight you started with---just too many variables and totally impractical.
Use this formula, go 15% down to lose fat, 20% up to gain mass. LOL

Havent posted in a while but i take pride in my eating and here is what i eat everyday on my bulking diet except on my occassional cheat day. Also, if done right when you are someone with a fast metabolism it is almost a job. Well, here it is:
1: 8 egg whites 2 yellows, 3 blueberry nutrigrain waffles, 16oz whole milk.
2: 2 chicken breast on wheat with swiss cheese sandwiches, 8oz whole milk.
3: Same as 2.
4: Medium to large size steak, sweet potatoe, 16oz lowfat milk.
5: 2 chicken breasts, bowl of ice cream, hand full of cashews.
6: 1 chicken breast, spaghetti, 8oz lowfat milk.
On my workout days there is an extra meal added.

My Diet:
#1 (Post-workout) Met-Rx + 4 servings powdered Gatorade
#2 (1 hour later) Met-Rx + 2 servings oatmeal w/cinnamon (not sugar)
#3 (3 hours later) Meso-Tech bar
#4 (4 hours later) 2-3 servings fish, chicken, or beef + baked potatoe+ veggies + 20-25 oz. skim milk + whatver else I can get down (usually more potatoes)
#5 (3-4 hours later) 1 can tuna +2-4 servings white rice + 1 tbsp. flax oil

How's that for maximum mass? Trouble is, I'm not geting any bigger, just fuller in some areas from the 1 1/2 gallons water everyday. I'm also hungry constantly and NOT EVEN ON CYCLE YET (starts soon)...any suggestions for easy extra calories (btw 5'6" 160-165 lbs. bf% <15%)..I was thinking adding some weight gainer before bed?

Just so you know.....
18yrs old 230lbs, I take in roughly 5000 calories a day. I think I spend more time eating then I do doing anything else in my day.
