i know everyone here has had an injury, probably pushed through it when they should've let off a little. I need to know what your experiences with pinched nerves in the shoulder/kneck area. currently am pushing through and its not affecting weightlifting much except for some shoulder injuries. ice? 'm 99% sure i have a fractured wrist i can flex or move my hand or arm laterally heres my dilemia i don't want a cast and stop training for 4-6 weeks i'm just coming off a cycle too so theres no way thats happening but right now i can't do dips, chins, deadlifts etc i can however do presses so what i was thinking instead of getting a cast just wrapping my wrist with my kickboxing wraps like that for support and hopefully it will heal in a week or two or would you recommend taking the 4-6 week layoff and get a cast?????which means i won't even be able to squats because i can't grip the bar any opinions or suggestions welcome IP: Logged |

I'm a Physical Therapist and an Athletic Trainer...and I would say to NOT lift with a pinched nerve. Here's why...your nerve is "pinched" because something is inflammed...and rubbing against your nerve. Lifting creates more friction..which is more rubbing on that spot...which makes it take longer for the inflammation to go away. ICE the spot for 15 minutes..couple of times a day. Advil or Excedrin can help IP: Logged |

I don't know if you have access to atheletic trainers or not but if so just have then tape the fucking shit out of it everyday before you hit the gym that has helped me before with wrist problems. you won't be 100% or anything but it is better than losing your gains. IP: Logged |
