I was just wondering how big can a natural athlete get. Take for instance if he was genetically gifted and an endomorph. I know that Frank Sepe is supposedly natural now and he is 240lbs. I think he juices everyone once in a while to maintain his weight though. IP: Logged |

Dude, If your not natural for life, then your not natural. Even if a person goes 10 years in between cycles, they are still reaping the rewards of cycles past. Personally, I did my last natural show at 30, and I weighed 201lbs at 6'0' tall. I am 32 now and plan on competing in July at an all-drug show , and have been cycling for two years. I plan on competing at 220lbs, and MUCH harder than before. A person should reach their genetic potential before going to AS--but that's just my opinion. As for Sepe, he's as natural as anyone else on this board RAGING BULL IP: Logged |

haha.. Raging bull- your point is a good one though. I totally agree with you. But it all depends on a few things: 1) genetics You can't come up with a formula and say ok, you're body type F, 24 year old male, 5'7 works out 10 hours a week, blah blah... Since you say that I am wondering is he staying above his genetic potential because he used to do juice or because he still is. IP: Logged |

Listen you will always grow naturally but, at a 10th of the rate. You will never stop making progress. It's a personal choice. You will never compare to someone who is taking that extra edge though. Not even close. Unless he's genetically jinxed. And as for the above mentioned lifters. They probably never have juiced just stuck to taking d-bols,tests and some other few legal goodies. Steel Beast, I really can appreciate your desire-inspiring statement regarding pushing the iron hard and with all of your physical and mental self. But that will only work to a degree naturally as well. I've pursued a great many options to continue my growth....diet......varied training, with varied weights and tempo......supplements of all kinds, prohormones, creatine, Tribulus, the ABCD that Phillips pushed, and I've never been short on desire or dogged determination.....but I've been stuck at 188 for six months now. So I'm ready to juice.......and I feel like I've exhausted all other natural means available, which is exactly where everyone should be before trying AS. Just my thoughts, not a flame bro! deltman ------------------ IP: Logged |

Young1, That's not true. There was a study done on genetic potential. They tried to determine if you could tell if someone was using a/s by look. They determined that you do have a genetic limit, if you are over that limit(bigger) you have used some type of size enhancing drug. IP: Logged |

Hey Saint, I remember that study. It was posted in an old musclemag in 97' I believe. It was true too because it showed lifters from the sixties turned out to be much different in the study then lifters nowadays. I better go check that out again. This is all good info bros. IP: Logged |

It is simple, pick up one of those "natural bodybuilding" magazines. The guys are not ripped and huge. They are usually smooth and well-muscled. The only time the looked carved is when they are cutting, and then they look smallish. Then go pickup a FLEX or it is obvious that you have a plateau. The exogenous chemicals used simple push that plateau higher. Platinum IP: Logged |

Looka at frank zane, thats a man i belive aint juicin, but that the only one, i have reached my limits, with a weight of 86,5 kg, with a little fat, and quite strong have competed in some powerlifting. everybody says that the only way i can get bigger is to juice, and we have tried everything, change diet, tranning and sleeop patern. so there must be some limit, unfortunally mine is a bit low :-( Bluesy IP: Logged |

alot of the people i know who worked out shitty (didn't have good training routines, didn't know anything about diet) usually stopped growing when their biceps got to about 15 in. the people who were experts at training (forced reps, slow reps, etc.) and who ate well, knew all about protein, how much to take and how to get insulin spikes usually stopped growing when their biceps reached 17-18. I cant understand how people can think that zane and columbo did not juice. Do you think it's normal for a guy to be able to bench 525, squat in the neighborhood of 680 and deadlift in the neighborhood of 750, all at a relatively small bodyweight compared to other powerlifters? Columbo was on juice, as was Zane. Any Mr. O that has ever lived was on juice, it's just that guys look at the huge lifters today and think "There's no way those guys back in the 70s could be on, cause they don't look anything like the guys in the new flex." Mr. O's and pros back then didn't take the unreal amounts that the pros stack today, but they were still on. Oh, except Arnold, he was never on anything. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Well STEEL, Look at ben johnson the sprinter from canada. he had a body type very much like zanes (except his legs) all he did was winstrol. You don't have to do test and A-bombs ya know. Hell I know of guys that only do primo ,EQ, deca, winny, and shit like that. only the Androgenic drugs will make you a monster. He was called the "Chemist" ya know! If you still don't believe me, then check out the Nov. 1999 issue of Musclemag. He talks a little bit about it in an interview. Common sense should tell you he is "on". He was competing against guys that were. Lee Haney, Arnold, Draper, Sergio, the only way the mother could have stayed competitive was to do as the romans do!!!!! ------------------ BIGDOG IP: Logged |

I must admit that Zane is the only one i belive didnt tke any juice, because i have a friend at the gym that was a little bigger and just aas cut as Zane, then he wnatet to get bigger and then started to use AS. The reason that Zane is called the chemist is because you wont find many people that knows that much about nutrition, try reading his artikels pr books, on trainning and nutrition, and you will see how much that guy know.. The Saint and Dude I never read that study so I can't say you're wrong. I just know that I got good gains of of food for over six years but, then again I was pretty young. Anyway, what I'm saying is that you can always make gains in some form or another and I know that for a fact. You cant say that once you get to your full potential you can't get any more cut or vascular or stronger or whatever. You just look the same forever. You can always improve in some way. You'll just look alot different than someone on AS. [This message has been edited by young1 (edited April 18, 2000).] IP: Logged |

People please! 1. Frank Zane was originally called "the chemist" because he was a school teacher--taught chemistry. Look it up if you don't beleive me. 2. Zane admitted to AS use in 2 interviews that I can think of. He said "I use AS but I never rely on them.". 3.ALL PROFESSIONAL BODYBUILDERS USE AS!!!!! Have a nice day. RAGING BULL IP: Logged |
