I listened to an audio interview on Testosterone.net, with Charles Polquine (sp) and he said that to increase arm size the most effective thing you can do is to increase the size of your legs. I think he said the reason was because of better circulation. I was just wondering if anybody had any experience with this??

I have never experimented with this specificly but I used to (in my younger days)
neglect leg training quite a bit and when I started to realy train leg hard/properly the rest of my body made much better gains especially my arms so maybe there is something to it.

Yeah, the bros' are right.
I think what he is refering to is that fact that when doing muiti-joint exercises like squats, lunges and press, they place so much stress on ancillairy muscles that it helps develop thickness and strength in the rest of your body too.

IF you want to grow just ask squatter he knows all the secrets! There's only a few, heavy atf squats, heavy deads and cleans.

That will make everything on you grow! Arms and all.

Listen, your body tries to stay in balance as much as possible. That is not saying that you can create unbalances, what happens is that if your lower body grows, it will be "easier" to get growth from the upperbody. There is a lot of reports that squating significaly increase GH levels in the body. Barbell squats trigger quite a few muscles then just the quads, glutes, and hams. One medical journal I read, said that 220 muscles are recurted during the squat. My advice, squats are good for the back and kness, no more excuses, just squat!

Well, I am just coming back from from a preatty serious ankle injury and started squatter "Oh my God, my balls have dropped and now I train like a man" workout. My arms have gotton a lot bigger than when I couldn't squat. My whole body is like rock now. Not just the parts that I train.

Jonrocks said it best. When you squat you recruit so many different muscles that your body is forced to release more GH, and I have also read, more testosterone. This increase allows your other body parts to grow. So if any of you bros dont train legs get on it...it can help out your bench press immensly.

Squats are the key. If you're not doing squats, then you are seriously inhibiting your potential. BUT! Do them correctly...don't worry about the weight at first, that'll come later. Get the form down first.

Part of the program I'm following now includes heavy squats. On tuesday my group and I spend the whole session solely on squats. My quads and glutes have gotten noticeably thicker--I've gained around 16 (natural)pounds in three weeks, much of which was in my legs. The trick is in the depth ... if your not breaking parallel, your wasting your time.

Although I am an adamant supporter of squats and deadlifts (mainly because of my Olympic Lifting background), I would like to make an important observation.

The men with the strongest legs in the world (and who do the most squats) are Olympic Weightlifters. But, they do not have huge arms (even though they usually throw 2.5 times their body weight above their head).

It was a decent theory, though.

Of course your arms are going to be bigger. You have to rack those 45 plates on the bar. Just kidding!

2thick, I see where you are coming from, but there is a flaw in your thinking. Top level OL care about how much weight goes overhead, not the size of their arms. If you never do any direct arm work, or any lat work, or any bench/incline pressing naturally you wouldn't have monster arms, it makes perfect sense.
If you are squatting AND doing the presses, lat work, and a little arm work, then your arms will grow bigger than if you didn't do the squats.

Some say that you see guys that are top heavy and have stick legs. True... Look, the guys who have stick legs and big arms, don't really have that big of an upper body... the really big arms out there come with big legs as well. drugs can alter this, but in 99% of the cases it's a fact.
